ECAC Announces DII Men's Lacrosse All-ECAC and Major Awards

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division II Men’s Lacrosse Awards and All-ECAC selections.
 
Brendan McDougal of Adelphi University took home Goalkeeper of the Year, while Zac Prattson from Le Moyne College won Defensive Player of the Year. Joseph Duchnowski from NYIT claimed rookie of the year honors.

McDougal led the panthers to the top seed of the Northeast-10 Championship after posting a save percentage of 58.2, good for second-best in the league. He had 15 wins, more than any other NE10 goalkeeper, and a 7.82 goals against average, also second-best in the NE10. His trademark game came against Le Moyne, making 19 saves despite the losing effort. McDougal was named NE10 First Team All-Conference and NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year.

Prattson was named Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year for second straight year for the dolphins, anchoring a nationally ranked defense that won a share of the Northeast-10 regular season championship as well as the program’s 14th NE10 tournament. The defense gave up only 7.2 goals per game, ranking first in the nation.

Duchnowski became a leader for NYIT immediately in his collegiate career. The rookie started 16 of NYIT’s 18 games this year and led the Bears in points with 50, totaling 31 goals and 19 assists. He would put away 60 percent of his shots on goal. He added 28 ground balls and was twice selected as ECAC DII Rookie of the Month.
