ECAC Announces 2019 Women's Basketball Championship

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced Cabrini University (17-10) will be the top overall seed in the 2019 ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Championship. The Cavaliers also receive a first round bye as the will host the weekend of the championship. Tournament play will begin Wednesday, February 27 at regional sites.
In pod 1
, No. 1 Cabrini (17-10) receives a bye as the host for the weekend while No. 2 Drew University (13-11) will host No. 3 Stevenson University (13-12).
In pod 2, No. 1 Misericordia University (22-5) earns a first round bye to head right to Cabrini. They will await a matchup between the winner of No. 2 Widener University (19-7) will host No. 3 Wilson College (16-11).
In pod 3, No. 1 New York University (14-10) also receives a first round bye. On Friday they will face the winner of No. 2 Washington & Jefferson College (19-8) who hosts No. 3 Penn State Altoona (12-12).
In pod 4, No. 1 Frostburg State University (15-10) will host No. 4 Grove City College (16-11). The other matchup in the pod features No. 2 Brooklyn College (19-8) hosting No. 3 Neumann University (14-12).
The winners of each first-round game will go on to compete in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 1 hosted by Cabrini University.
