#ECACD2FH League Confirms Times, Pairings for Conference Tournament
2016 ECAC DII Field Hockey League Tournament Bracket
DANBURY, Conn. – The ECAC Division II Field Hockey League has confirmed the pairings and times for the upcoming conference tournament to be held Nov. 4-6 at Setzler Field on the campus of Newberry College.
Lindenwood University (14-3, 7-1 ECAC) will be the tournament’s one-seed after topping Bellarmine University on Saturday. The Lady Lions will take on No. 4 Mercy College (7-11, 2-6 ECAC), which recorded a 3-1 win over Newberry on the last day of the regular season to clinch its first-ever berth in the conference tournament. The two teams will face off in the second semifinal slated for 6 p.m. on Friday.
Bellarmine University (12-6, 5-3 ECAC) will be the tournament’s second seed after winning a tiebreaking coin flip over third-seeded Limestone College (10-8, 5-3 ECAC). The two teams, which split two head-to-head meetings in the regular season, will square off in the tournament’s first semifinal on Friday at 4 p.m.
The winners of the two semifinals will meet for the ECAC DII Field Hockey League Championship on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. A third-place match will be played at 10:30 a.m.
