Junior, Shirley, NY
At the Boston University Valentine's Invitational, Wiszowaty finished fourth of 60 runners in the 5,000 meter run with a school record and NCAA automatic qualifying time of 16:52.81. The junior was also named SUNYAC women’s track athlete of the week.
Stephanie Herrick
– The College of New Jersey
Sophomore, Wayne, NJ
Herrick defeated a field of 36 competitors to win the 800 meters in Lafayette-Rider Invitational held at the New York Armory in Manhattan with a school-record and NCAA automatic qualifying time of 2:12.97. Herrick also was a member of TCNJ’s 4x400 meter relay team which finished as the top Division III squad, placing third in a nine-team field with a time of 4:00.10. The junior was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
Field Athlete of the Week
Melissa Bellemore – University of
Southern Maine
Senior, Manchester, NH
At the New England Alliance/Little East Conference Championships, Bellemore won three events and placed in a fourth to help the Huskies sweep the two titles for the seventh straight year. She won the pole vault for the fourth straight year by clearing 11-2 1/2, the long jump with a leap of 16-0 1/2, and the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.03 seconds in the finals. She also placed in the triple jump with a jump of 32-1 and was named Little East Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
