Track Athlete of the Week
Liz Montgomery – SUNY Geneseo
Sophomore, Glenville, NY
At the St. Lawrence Open, Montgomery ran an NCAA Division III
season-best and NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 16:57.64 in the
5,000 meters. The senior was also named SUNYAC women’s indoor
track athlete of the week.
Co-Field Athlete of the Week
Allison Griggs – Rochester
Institute of Technology
Senior, Salem, Conn.
Griggs won the weight throw (15.12 meters) at the Syracuse
University Welcome Back Invitational. The throw provisionally
qualified her for the NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track
and Field Championships. The senior also placed second in the
shot put with a throw of 12.45 meters, and was named the Empire 8
Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Alyssa Pirinelli – St. Lawrence
University
Freshman , North Towanda, N.Y.
At the St. Lawrence Open, Pirinelli won the women’s shot put with a throw of 12.87, a NCAA provisional qualifying throw; her second in just two meets. The Freshman was also named Liberty League Field Performer of the Week.
