Track Athlete of the Week
Nicole Plante - UMass Lowell
Senior, North Adams, Mass.
Plante posted the second-fastest time in the country and
provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 5,000
meters at the Boston University Terrier Classic. The senior ran the
course in 16:57.69, just five seconds off her own school record,
and placed 10th overall and tops among Division II-III runners.
This is the second consecutive week in which Plante was named
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete and ECAC Women’s
Track Performer of the Week.
Field Athlete of the Week
Toni-Marie Henry - UMass Lowell
Senior, Springfield, Mass.
Henry placed fifth overall and tops among Division II-III athletes in the long jump at the Boston University Terrier Classic. The senior posted a distance of 17' 7.0'' and also placed 15th overall (first in Division II-III) in the 400-meter dash in 58.66 seconds. This is the second consecutive week in which Plante was named Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete and ECAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week.
