Co- Track Athletes of the Week
Jessica Ortman –
University at Albany
Sophomore, Williamsville, N.Y.
Ortman won the 1000-meters in 2:53.95, qualifying for the ECAC meet and leading the UAlbany women to a first-place finish at the Carleton Crowell Open. She was a member of the 4x400 relay team that won the race in 3:54.50. At the Yale Season Opener in December, Ortman also qualified for the ECAC’s in the 800-meters. The jophomore was named America East Women’s Track Performer of the Week.
Aisha Thomas –
Long Island University
Junior, Jefferson City, Mo.
Thomas established an ECAC qualifying and NEC best time in the 200-meter dash at the Fordham Invitational. Her time of 24.56 was a personal best and topped a field of 14 teams. She also ran the third leg of the winning 1600-meter relay which posted a time of 3:54.13. The junior was also named the Northeast Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Co-Field Athletes of the Week
Ashley Harbin –
Lafayette College
Junior, Carthage, N.Y.
Harbin place first in the weight throw at the Carleton Crowell Open. Her personal-best 19.115-meter mark was not only an ECAC qualifying mark but an NCAA provisional qualifying mark as well. The junior was also named Patriot League Female Field Performer of the Week.
Becky Christensen
– Harvard University
Sophomore, Celina Tex.
Christensen provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the high jump after clearing 1.79 meters in the event on Saturday against Northeastern. She won the event for the third time in as many tries this season.
