Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Anderson - College of William & Mary
Sophomore, Golf, Ill.
Anderson met an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the mile (4:43.33) at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The sophomore broke a school indoor record with her performance. Anderson also contributed to William & Mary's ECAC qualifying 4x400-meter relay victory (3:51.12).
Field Athlete of the Week
Jillian Drouin - Syracuse University
Senior, Corunna, Ontario
Drounin posted an NCAA qualifying time and set a school record in the pentathlon with 4,099 points. The senior also finished second in the high jump with a leap of 1.80 meters. For her efforts, Anderson was named the Big East Indoor Championship Women's Most Outstanding Performer of the Year.
Division II
Co-Track Athletes of the Week
Nicole Radzik - Bryant University
Senior, Sutton, Mass.
Radzik was named Female Athlete of the Year after recording two victories at the Northeast-10 Championship, where she won the 3,000-meter run (10:35.16) and the 5,000 meter run (19:41.10).
Symone Wong - Southern Connecticut State University
Junior, Laurelton, N.Y.
Wong was victorious in two events at the Northeast-10 Championship, capturing the 55-meter dash (7.20) and the 200-meter dash (25.85).
Field Athlete of the Week
Sasha Mathelier - Southern Connecticut State
University
Senior, Freeport, N.Y.
Mathelier received the Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet honor at the Northeast-10 Championship this past weekend. The senior won the pole vault clearing a height of 11'5.75" and finished second in the high jump (5'3") and the 55-meter hurdles (8.38).
Division III
Co-Track Athletes of the Week
Carrie Pitt - Williams College
Senior, Wenham, Mass.
Pitt won two events at the New England Division III Championships. The senior provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 400-meter dash (58.55) and took first in the 200-meter dash (25.59).
Stephanie Herrick - The College of New Jersey
Junior, Wayne, N.J.
Herrick won two events at the NJAC Indoor Championships. The junior met an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the mile with a time of 5:00.87, while taking the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.34. For her efforts, Herrick was named Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Meet.
Co-Field Athletes of the Week
Julia Hopson - SUNY Fredonia
Junior, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Hopson captured first place in two events at the SUNYAC Championship, clearing an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the weight throw (16.34m) and an ECAC qualifying mark in the shot put (12.21m).
Lisa Shepherd - Richard Stockton College
Sophomore, Mays Landing, N.J.
Shepherd was named Outstanding Female Field Athlete of the Meet at the NJAC Indoor Championships as she recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying leap in the high jump of 1.65 meters.
