Moravian Wins at 2008 ECAC Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Moravian College women's team ran away from the field at the 2008 Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing with a team score of 56. MIT barely edged out Bates College for second place, with scores of 42.5 and 42.0, respectively.
New Jersey City University took fourth place with a score of 41 points, and The College of New Jersey rounded out the top five with a score of 40.
Jessica Posimo was the lone Moravian athlete to capture first place in an event, doing so in the Pentathlon. She won three of the five events within the series, and finished with a score of 3,170.
Three ECAC Division III Indoor records were set during the meet. Frostburg State's Sumer Rohrs sprinted to a time of 7.98 seconds in the 55-meter Hurdles event. Stephanie Herrick from TCNJ set a new top mark in the 1,000 Meter Run, completing the event in a time of 2:53.46. In the 1 Mile Run, Alanna Hollborn of SUNY Cortland crossed the finish line in 5:03.70 for another record.
