Diver of the Week
Karen Upperco - University of Massachusetts
Junior, Diver, Titusville, N.J.
Upperco was victorious in the one-meter dive event recording a score of 520.60 at the A-10 Championship. The junior finished second in the three-meter event with a score of 563.95. For her efforts, Upperco was awarded with the Most Outstanding Diver honor.
Division II
Swimmer of the Week
Alison Lesher - Le Moyne College
Senior, Freestyle/Butterfly, Sherrill, N.Y.
Lesher won three events at the NYSWCAA, setting a meet record in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.72). The senior also took first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.22) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.82).
Division III
Co-Swimmers of the Week
Emily Love - Vassar College
Junior, Backstroke, South Windsor, Conn.
Love made two NCAA "A" cuts at the New York State Meet by winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.29 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.37.
Emily Lesher - Nazareth College
Senior, Backstroke, Sherrill, N.Y.
Lesher automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events at the Empire 8 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship. Lesher met the qualifying marks by winning the 200-yard IM (2:06.69) and by breaking the her own school record in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.70).
Co-Divers of the Week
Molly Freeman - Union College
Senior, Diver, Barrington, Ill.
Freeman swept the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the NYSWCAA Championships recording scores of 385.65 and 451.35, respectively. The senior set a new school record with her three-meter dive score.
Ashley Brinkman - Hartwick College
Junior, Diver, Ottawa, Ohio
Brinkman swept both diving events at the Empire 8 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship. The junior won the one-meter with a score of 356.30 and the three-meter with a score of 388.75.
