New York University Repeats as Men's and Women's Division III Swimming and Diving Champions
The New York University men's and women's
swimming & diving teams took home first place at the
ECAC Division III Championships which were held
Friday-Sunday, December 1-3, at the Nassau County Aquatics
Center in East Meadow, NY. The men's squad totalled 1,582
points and edged out The College of New Jersey (1,187) in the
16-team field. The women's squad posted a convincing victory
and totaled 707.5 points and easily outdistanced the
second-place finisher, Gettysburg College, who compiled 400
points.
Sophomore Eric Wang was a double winner capturing the 200 yard
butterfly and the 400 yard IM. NYU also won a pair of
relays (200-yard freestyle and 200 yard medley relay).
The women's squad posted a convincing victory and totaled
707.5 points and easily outdistanced the second-place finisher,
Gettysburg College, who compiled 400 points. Overall, the
Violets won six events and added five second place
finishes.
