Co-Players of the Week 

Niveen Rasheed – Princeton University

Senior, Guard, Danville, Calif.

Rasheed posted a pair of double-doubles in two Princeton victories, finishing with 25 points and 12 rebounds against Dartmouth and 17 points and 10 rebounds against Harvard. It marked the 31st and 32nd double-doubles of her career, as she now has nine on the season, one shy of the career-high she set as a freshman and a junior. Against the Big Green and Crimson, Rasheed also averaged 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists while hitting nine free throws in each contest.

Keiera Ray – University of Pennsylvania

Freshman, Guard, Aurora, Ill.

Ray led the Quakers to their first sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard since 2003-04 and the first at home since 2000-01. Ray finished with 31 points against Harvard on 7-of-14 shooting. She shot 14-of-20 from the free throw line, including 7-of-8 over the final 1:18 to seal the win. It marked the highest scoring performance for an Ivy player since Dartmouth’s Faziah Steen had 32 against Vermont on Nov. 22, 2011, and the most points in a League game since teammate Alyssa Baron had 38 at Harvard on Feb. 5, 2011. Ray connected on the most free throws by an Ivy athlete since Yale’s Melissa Colborne hit the same amount at UC Riverside on Dec. 30, 2008. Against the Big Green, Ray again led the team in scoring, finishing with a game-high 19 points while hitting all six of her free throws. In the two games, Ray shot 50.0 percent from downtown (6-of-12) and 76.9 from the charity stripe (20-of-26), while averaging 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal. Ray has scored in double figures in five-straight games and is averaging 18.0 points per game during that stretch.

Player of the Week 

Brittany Sicinski – West Chester University

Freshman, Guard, Downingtown, Pa.

Brittany Sicinski averaged 17 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per contest in West Chester’s two games last week. The freshman guard tied her season high with 21 points against Bloomsburg on Saturday while adding 13 on the road at Kutztown in the middle of the week. She connected on 60 percent of her shots from the field last week (12-for-20) and made 8 of 10 free throws. Additionally, she averaged 3.0 steals per game. Sicinski grabbed 11 rebounds on the week with seven of them coming off the offensive glass.

Division III – New England

Player of the Week

Catherine O'Connell – Newbury College

Senior, Center, Quincy, Mass.

Averaging 23.0 points and 22.0 rebounds per game and shooting 58.7% from the field, O'Connell led the Nighthawks to a perfect 3-0 week including a 70-63 upset victory over Elms College to split the season series. O'Connell opened the week surpassing her previous career single-game high in rebounds, ripping down 32 boards while netting 32 points with five blocks in a 64-47 victory over Lesley University on Senior Night, Monday evening. The following night, the South Shore native became Newbury's all-time scoring leader registering her 14th double-double of the season with 15 points and 15 rebounds. O'Connell closed out the week shooting a remarkable 69.2% from the floor to register a team-high 22 points while pulling down 19 boards. Overall on the week, O'Connell recorded 69 points with 66 rebounds and nine blocks.

Division III – Upstate

Player of the Week

Courtney Tennant – RIT

Junior, Center, Cortland, NY

Tennant helped RIT to a 3-0 week last week with wins over William Smith, St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The win over William Smith was the first for RIT in program history. Tennant averaged 20.3 PPG and 13.0 RPG in three games last week. She shot 52.4% from the floor, 89.5% from the foul line, blocked eight shots and had three steals. On Tuesday, Tennant scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 69-59 win over William Smith. She was 8-of-12 from the floor, 4-of-4 from the foul line and had two blocks.
On Friday, the junior center scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 73-65 win over St. Lawrence. She was 11-of-21 from the field, 7-of-9 from the foul line, had three blocks and two steals for the Tigers. Tennant wrapped up her week with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-59 win over Clarkson. She was just 3-of-9 from the field, but went 6-for-6 from the foul line and blocked three shots.

Division III – Metro

Player of the Week

Talia Beaulieu – SUNY Purchase
Senior, Forward, Waldorf, Md.

Beaulieu averaged 25.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists as Purchase secured the No. 2 seed in this week’s Skyline Championship with wins over NYU-Poly (78-57) and St. Joseph’s-L.I. (73-51). She scored 28 points and registered four steals versus SJC on Feb. 16. She scored 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting on Feb. 12 against NYU-Poly and added two blocks in 64 minutes of action. 

Division III – South

Co-Players of the Week

Natasha Matthews – Gwynedd-Mercy

Sophomore, Forward, Norristown, Pa.

Matthews helped the Griffins secure the #2 seed in the upcoming CSAC Championship Tournament, averaging 18.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in two victories. In Wednesday’s win over Neumann, Matthews scored 12 points, on 6-for-9 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds. On Saturday, in a battle for second place in the conference, the sophomore posted game-highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds, connecting on 9 of 12 attempts from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 at the foul line.

Jill Woerner – Catholic University

Senior, Guard, Providence, RI

In helping Catholic lock up the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament, Jill Woerner averaged 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in two wins this week. On Senior Day, Woerner scored a game-high 25 points, including a jumper with 1:12 remaining in regulation to give the Cardinals a brief two-point lead, en route to an overtime win over Moravian. Woerner scored three points in overtime, and finished with 10 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists, while sinking five of six free throws. Earlier in the week, Woerner scored 11 points while battling the flu in a win over Goucher to help CUA set a single season record for wins (23) and Landmark wins (12).
