In a 2-0 week for Springfield, O'Connor played as well as she
has all season. She averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals,
and 1.0 assists, while shooting .682 from the floor (15-of-22) and
.929 from the free throw line (13-of-14). In a big 75-68 overtime
victory over Mount Holyoke last Wednesday she scored 22 points and
added 14 rebounds, three steals, and one assist. She was 5-of-10
from the floor, and 12-of-12 from the line (including 6-of-6 in
overtime). In a 74-54 win over Wellesley last Saturday, she scored
21 points and added five rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Ashley Marble -
University of Southern

Senior, Forward,
Topsfield, Maine
Marble became the first Southern Maine women's basketball player
to eclipse the 1,000 career point and 1,000 career rebound
benchmark on Jan. 31 against Husson. She is currently second
all-time in the program's history in rebounds (1,020), while
ranking third in scoring (1,725). Marble registered 14 points and
14 rebounds, while redirecting a season-high three shots in a
victory over the Eagles, 70-57. Three days later, she scored 22
points and collected 15 caroms, recording her 12th consecutive
double-double, in a Little East Conference win over Western
Connecticut. Marble averaged 18 points and 14.5 rebounds per game,
as well as, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 week
for the Huskies.

Amanda Baker -

Baker stepped up against two strong AMCC opponents to post some
big numbers and help keep the Mavs in contention for the regular
season conference title. She put in a 20 point, 8 rebound, 3 steal
effort on the road against Lake Erie, and then was a perfect 13-13
from the floor en route to a 29-point, 11-rebound performance
versus Pitt-Greensburg. The AMCC scoring leader averaged 24.5
points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals on the week.
Ava Thomas -
Utica College
Senior, Forward, Bronx,
N.Y.
Thomas averaged 23.3 points, 16.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 3.3
blocks in three games and eclipsed the 1,000-point career scoring
mark in her third season. Thomas totaled 27 points, 19 rebounds,
eight steals, and five blocks in a victory over second-place Ithaca
on Friday. She scored 26 points- including her 1,000th- and grabbed
14 rebounds in a loss to first-place Elmira on Saturday.

Player of the Week
Stephanie Machin -
Montclair State

Providence, N.J.
Machin averaged 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while
shooting .579 from the field in a 2-0 week for Montclair State. She
tallied 16 points, including 8-of-9 shooting from the free throw
line as the Red Hawks snapped William Paterson's 16-game winning
streak with a 72-61 victory over their NJAC rivals. She wrapped up
the week by registering a season-high 25 points along with nine
rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the Red Hawks' 72-59
conference road win at Rowan.

Player of the Week
Taryn Mellody -

Mellody averaged 26 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games as the 5th-ranked Lady Royals took a three-game lead in the Freedom Conference with victories over King's College and FDU-Florham during the period. She scored 20 of her game-high 32 points in the second-half as Scranton snapped King's College's season-long nine-game winning streak with a 78-73 victory on Wednesday. She also added 10 rebounds to post her first double-double of the season. On Friday she connected on 8 of 13 shots from the field (61.5 percent) to finish with a game-high 20 points as the Lady Royals defeated FDU-Florham, 78-63. Against King's she went over the 1700-point mark for her career and now has 1747.
