Corvias ECAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week (for week ending March 9, 2014)

Division I - New England

Breanna Stewart – University of Connecticut
Sophomore, Forward, Syracuse NY

Stewart, the Most Outstanding Player for the American Athletic Conference Championship, led all University of Connecticut players with 20 points, nine rebounds, two steals, six assists and four blocks in the 72-52 win over Louisville. Throughout the tournament, she averaged 21.3 points, seven rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals.

Division I - Metro/Upstate

Shereesha Richards – University of Albany
Sophomore, Forward, Oceanview, NJ

Richards earned the America East Conference Championship Most Outstanding Player as the Great Danes earned the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. She scored a game-high 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting. On the week, she averaged 21 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Division I - South

Kirby Burkholder – James Madison University
Senior, Guard, Bridgewater, Va.

Burkholder led the Dukes with 30 points in an 86-49 road victory over Northeastern to wrap up the regular-season. The senior guard shot 61.1 percent (11-for-18) from the floor and placed her name in the CAA record books (tied for seventh) draining eight three-pointers (8-for-13) in the contest.  Her eight treys moved her into second place on the CAA single-season list for made three-pointers in a season (102), becoming just the third player in conference history to make 100 or more threes in a season. She scored JMU’s first 14 points against the Huskies and finished with eight rebounds and added one assist.
