Track Athlete of the Week
Felix Kitur - Virginia Military Institute
Freshman, Eldoret, Kenya
Kitur finished second in the 800-meter run (1:50.63) at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The freshman's time was the fastest in the Big South Conference this season.
Field Athlete of the Week
Kolby Shepherd - Liberty University
Freshman, Dublin, Ga.
Shepherd set a Liberty freshman record in the pole vault at the Virginia Tech Challenge with a height of 4.95 meters.
Division II
Track Athlete of the Week
McNeil Johnson - Southern Connecticut State
University
Junior, East Hartford, Conn.
Johnson won the 55-meter hurdles at the Northeast 10 Conference Championship and took home Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet. The junior also finished second in the 500-meter run (1:07.04).
Field Athlete of the Week
Robert Keizer - Southern Connecticut State
University
Senior, Great Neck, N.Y.
Keizer took first place in the triple jump at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship with a distance of 48'8.25".
Division III
Co-Track Athletes of the Week
Jon Garcia - University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth
Senior, Stoneham, Mass.
Garcia won the 55-meter hurdles at the New England Division III Championships with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.58 seconds.
Amaan Siddeqq - SUNY Cortland
Senior, Goshen, N.Y.
Siddeqq finished first and set meet records in two events at the SUNYAC Championships. The senior met an NCAA provisional mark in the 50-yard dash (7.05), while capturing a victory in the 200-yard dash (22.01).
Field Athlete of the Week
Wes Hamilton - SUNY Geneseo
Senior, Shirley, N.Y.
Hamilton met two NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the SUNYAC Championships. The senior finished first in the long jump with a leap of 7.05 meters and finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.14 meters.
