Swimmer of the Week
Steve Hall – Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute
Sophomore, Johnstown, N.Y.
Hall had an outstanding meet at the New York State Championships
in Syracuse. In the first session, Steve helped the 400-medley
relay team finish third in a school record time of 3:31.66. He then
won the 100-breastroke in an NCAA provisional time of 58.55,
finished fifth in the 400 Individual Medley (1:40.25) and helped
the 200-medley relay to sixth (1:40.25) on day two. Steve closed
out the meet with a win and NCAA provisional time of 2:07.95 in the
200-breastroke. As a team, Rensselaer finished third overall and
first among Liberty League teams with 1,050 points in the 14-team
field.
Diver of the Week
Quinn Donahoe - Rochester Institute of
Technology
Junior, Syracuse, N.Y.
Donahoe earned Diver of the Meet honors at the 2007 Empire 8 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship held in conjunction with the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championship. He won the Empire 8 and UNYSCSA titles in the one-meter and three-meter diving events, breaking his own conference championship record on the three-meter board. He captured the one-meter board with 470.30 points, and won the three-meter board with 510.25 points, breaking his own mark of 479.20 points.
