Craig Matt —University of
Rochester
Senior, New Hartford, N.Y.
Matt had triple victories in meets vs. RIT and Cortland this
week. Against RIT, he won the 200 free (1:48.94), the 100 free
(54.84) and the 500 free (4: 57.77). In the next meet, a win vs.
Cortland, he won the 200 free (1:46.72), the 100 free at 49.37, and
the 100 fly (54.53).
Kevin Carney—Lebanon Valley
College
Sophomore, Highland Lakes, N.J.
Carney won six events in two days to help Lebanon Valley to a
2-0 week. In the team's 99-85 win over Ursinus, he won the
1,000-yard freestyle (10: 36.70), the 200-yard IM (2:11.59), and
the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.67). Carney followed up with victories
in the 800-meter freestyle (9:35.33), the 200-meter IM (2:25.60),
and the 400-meter freestyle (4:29.23) in a 98-97 win over Ocean
County.
Diver of the Week
Matthew Culen—Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute
Sophomore, Pelham, N.Y.
At the 2007 Kumpf Invitational hosted by Rensselaer, Culen won off both boards, capturing the 1-meter with 269.60 points and the 3-meter with 275.80. As a team, RPI finished second (538 points) in the seven-team invite.
