Corvias ECAC Men's Swimmers & Divers of the Week (for week ending Feb. 2, 2014)

Division I - New England

Co-Swimmers of the Week

Chris Inglis – University of Massachusetts
Senior, Mashpee, Mass. 

Inglis claimed gold in both the 100-yard freestyle (45.78) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.40) this past weekend against Fordham. Swimming in his final home meet, Inglis also recorded a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.

Mun Hon Lee – Boston University
Sophomore, Melbourne, Australia

Lee led the Terriers with individual victories in the 100-yard backstroke (52.44), 200-yard backstroke  (1:53.48) and 200-yard individual medley (1:57.44), as Boston University beat Boston College 184-152 on Friday.

Diver of the Week

Daniel Pires – Fairfield University
Freshman, Chelmsford, Mass.

Pires captured both the one-meter and three-meter boards for the Stags at their home meet against Iona on Feb. 1. Pires placed first on the one-meter with a score of 255.45 and recorded a first place score of 266.00 on the three-meter board.

Division I - Metro/Upstate

Swimmer of the Week

Richard Xue – U.S. Military Academy
Sophomore, Centerville, Va.

Xue won the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.10) and 400-yard individual medley (4:03.93) at the All-Comers Meet at Navy on Saturday.

Diver of the Week

Zach Woods – U.S. Military Academy
Senior, Collierville, Tenn.

Woods swept the diving events at the All-Comers Meet at Navy on Saturday, taking first-place in both the one-meter and three-meter dives. 

Division I - South

Swimmer of the Week

Tom Duvall – U.S. Naval Academy
Sophomore, Durham, NC

Duvall won four different individual events in a pair of meets for the Midshipmen this past weekend. He placed first in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.79) and 100-yard freestyle (46.39) against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday before taking first place in the 500-yard freestyle (4:32.50) and 1,000-yard freestyle (9:22.35) versus Columbia on Friday. He also posted the fastest leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay against both opponents, helping Navy to the win over Columbia. Duvall has posted 19 wins in 24 individual events this season.

Diver of the Week

Nick McCrory – Duke University
Senior, Chapel Hill, NC 

Duke’s McCrory broke his own pool record on the one-meter board with a score of 478.43. On the three-meter board, the senior from Chapel Hill, N.C., recorded a score of 519.00 to break school and pool records. The scores eclipsed McCrory’s previous season highs, as he has the ACC’s best scores on the one-meter, three-meter and platform events.

Division II

Swimmer of the Week

Jakub Skrzypczak – Wheeling Jesuit University
Sophomore, Mielec, Poland

Skrzypczak set a new pool record with a time of 4:12.34 in the 400-yard individual medley. Skrypczak also won the men's 50-yard backstroke.

Diver of the Week

David Cochran – Lindenwood University
Sophomore, Greensfield, Ind.

Cochran competed in the Principia Diving Invitational last weekend. He finished third out of four divers in the one-meter dive with a mark of 444.20, and third out of three divers in the three-meter dive with a mark of 424.20.

Division III - New England

Swimmer of the Week

Ben Morseth – U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Sophomore, Zachary, La.

Morseth was the big winner on the day for Coast Guard, winning three individual events and swimming leadoff for the winning 200-yard medley relay team. Morseth won the 100-yard backstroke (55.72), 200-yard backstroke (1:57.91), and 200-yard individual medley (1:59.94), while also helping pace the 200-yard medley relay team to a winning time of 1:38.66. He would lead the Coast Guard men's swimming and diving team to a 172-108 victory over Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

Diver of the Week

Jack Lewis – Springfield College
Junior, Durham, NH

Lewis had a pair of strong showings in the diving events as he once again produced nationally qualifying marks in a dual meet at Amherst. On the one-meter board, Lewis posted a 307.27, while on the three-meter he notched a 292.95.

Division III - Metro

Swimmer of the Week

Bryan Woodhead – College at Old Westbury
Junior, Port Jefferson, NY

Woodhead registered a meet-record time of 59.24 in the 100-yard breaststroke on Jan. 30 at the Skyline Championship and was tabbed the Championship's Most Outstanding Performer for the second consecutive year. He also earned gold in the 50-yard (21.58) and 100-yard freestyle (47.90) events.

Diver of the Week

Jeffrey Jackel – William Paterson University
Senior, Kenilworth, NJ

Jaeckel took home a first-place showing during NJAC competition this week. During a 162-126 NJAC defeat to Montclair State, he claimed first-place in the one-meter diving competition with a winning score of 157.37.

Division III - Upstate

Swimmer of the Week

Ravi Sun – Stevens Institute of Technology
Sophomore, Arkadelphia, Ark.

Sun won three events to lead Stevens to win a Saturday over Hartwick. Sun took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.85, the 200-yard backstroke in 1:54.98, and the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a 1:56.58. Sun also was a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team that turned in a 1:36.40.

Diver of the Week

Alec Fleet – Buffalo State
Freshman, Addison, NY

Fleet swept the men's diving events in a dual meet at Geneseo, setting a pair of Buffalo State and Geneseo pool records in the process. Fleet's one-meter, six-dive score of 365.25 also set a new SUNYAC record. He also won the three-meter competition with an 11-dive mark of 572.45. Both performances were NCAA zone qualifying scores.

Division III - South

Swimmer of the Week

Jeremy Kim – Grove City College
Freshman, Frederick, Md.

Kim won three events Thursday night for Grove City at Westminster. He won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:09.45), 500-yard freestlye (4:56.53) and 200-yard butterfly (1:59.03).
