The College of New Jersey Edges Out NYU to Claim 2007 ECAC Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Title

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - The College of New Jersey finished with a meet score of 793.5, narrowly topping New York University to win the 2007 ECAC Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championship, held November 30 through December 2 at the Nassau County Aquatics Center.
TCNJ and NYU battled back and forth over the three-day meet, before TCNJ knocked off the defending champions. NYU finished with a score of 721.5, and Springfield College finished a distant third at 342.5.

Three major awards were handed out on the men's side at the completion of the meet. Pavel Buyanov of the College of Staten Island was honored as the 'Swimmer of the Meet'. He earned 45 points for CSI behind wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and helped the relay team to a third place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Nick Halbach of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy received the 'Diver of the Meet' recognition. Halbach won the 3 meter diving event by enough of a margin to overcome his second place finish in the 1 meter event.
