Cain averaged 27.3 points en route to helping WPI win three games
in four days. He started his impressive string by pouring in a
season-high 30 points in an 81-70 victory over Endicott. Cain then
earned MVP honors at the Raiders Engineers Classic after scoring 27
points in a win versus Case Western Reserve and 25 points in the
championship victory against host Milwaukee School of Engineering.
On the week, the senior guard connected on 24-of-42 (57.1%) shots
from the field. Cain, who played 118 of a possible 120 minutes,
also added 13 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in the three
contests.
Steve DeLuca-
Brandeis University

DeLuca led the Judges to a 2-1 week and the second-best start in
school history by averaging 20.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
He also contributed five steals, three assists and three blocks. He
led all scorers in the Judges' 74-59 win over Elms College on Dec.
4 with 18 points and pulled down six rebounds, tied with four
others for team-high. DeLuca recorded his sixth career
double-double in a 66-51 win over Clark the next day with 13 points
and game-high 11 rebounds. Brandeis's winning streak was brought to
a halt on Dec. 9 as Brandeis fell, 84-74, on the road at No.
2-ranked Amherst College, despite DeLuca's game-high 30 points and
eight rebounds. It was his second career 30-point game.

Michael Herr-

Herr scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in an
89-76 victory over New England College on Tuesday. In the victory,
Herr scored his 1,000th career point with 14:30 to play in the
second half. At NEC he shot 8-10 from the floor including 4-4 from
three-point range. In a 76-70 overtime loss to Salem State on
Saturday, Herr shot 6-10 from the field while going 4-8 from
downtown and a perfect 2-2 from the free-throw line. Combined for
the week, Herr was 14-20 from the field (.700), 8-12 (.666) from
three-point land, grabbed 12 boards and was 3-3 from the charity
stripe.
Bryan Rouse -
Emerson College

Greenwich, R.I.
Rouse scored a school and GNAC record 56 points vs. Daniel Webster
on 24-31 shooting from the field and 8 of 12 from the line.
Only 18 players in Division III have scored more points in a single
game. Rouse added a career high 11 boards. Two days earlier in a
win over Eastern Nazerene, Rouse scored 15 points and had 4
rebounds.

Dan McSweeney - St.

McSweeney averaged 22.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 1.5
blocks, while shooting 78.3 percent from the floor in a 2-0 week
for the Cardinals. He tallied 19 points, six boards, and a
career-high six steals in a 69-67 overtime win over Rochester on
Thursday. On Saturday, McSweeney scored a career-high 25
points on 11-of-13 shooting, adding nine rebounds and three steals,
in a 63-62 victory over Geneseo. He made a free throw with
4.4 seconds left for the deciding point for the Cardinals, who
ended the game on an 8-0 run.
Ray Bryant-
Utica College
Senior, Forward, Utica,
N.Y.
Bryant averaged 29 points and 14.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the
Pioneers. He tallied 32 points and pulled down nine rebounds
in a 72-58 win over visiting Cortland on Thursday and followed it
up with 26 points and 20 boards in a 99-76 victory over SUNY IT on
Saturday.

Player of the Week
Jeffrey Boone - York
College

The senior enjoyed a tremendous all-around week in helping lead
York to a 3-0 record. The 6'3" swingman averaged 17.7 points,
8.6 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. In a non-conference victory
over Brooklyn College Boone scored 24 points, grabbed seven
rebounds, and had five assists. The senior, who is averaging 17.3
points and 7.2 rebounds per game, followed that up with 15 points
and nine rebounds in the league-win versus Medgar Evers. He nearly
completed the week with a triple-double, producing 14 points, nine
assists, and 10 rebounds in a seven point victory over St.
Joseph's.

Player of the Week
Antione McCall - Frostburg State University
Junior, Forward, Essex, Md.
McCall averaged 17.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 2.3 apg while shooting 50%
from the field in three Bobcat victories. His highlight performance
came against La Roche where he recorded 24 points and grabbed 10
rebounds, scoring the game-winning basket to beat the Redhawks in
overtime.
