Basketball Players of the Week (for the week ending December 5,
2010)
Division I
Player of the Week
Mike Glover – Iona College
Junior, Forward, Bronx, N.Y.
Glover averaged 29.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in Iona's 3-0 week, posting double-doubles in all three contests. He shot 67.3% (35-for-52) from the field. In the Gaels' two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference wins, he averaged 34.5 points per game, including a 39-point, 14-rebound effort against Canisius. Glover became the second player in Iona history to record back-to-back double-doubles with 30 or more points.
Division II
Player of the Week
Harley Williamson – West Chester University
Sophomore, Guard, Lower Merion, Pa.
Williamson posted a career-high 21 points off the bench and also added five rebounds, five assists and two steals to help West Chester to an 80-60 win over Holy Family in the Golden Rams’ only game of the week. He was nearly perfect from the field, making 8-of-9 shots, including 2-of-2 three-pointers, and was 3-of-3 from the free throw line.
Division III – New England
Player of the Week
John Sanchez – Lesley University
Junior, Guard, Carson, Calif.
Sanchez hit a game winning free throw in the final seconds of a
75-74 victory over Curry. In a tough 85-60 loss to Wentworth, he
notched a career high 26 points. The junior averaged 21.5 points,
4.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists and two steals per game for the
Lynx’ 1-1 week. For the week, he averaged 48% from the
field (10-for-21), 40% from beyond the arch (2-for-5) and 84% from
the charity stripe (21-for-25).
Division III – Upstate
Player of the Week
Jared Suderley – Hartwick College
Freshman, Forward, Newport, N.Y.
Suderley averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds as Hartwick split two
games last week. He posted a double-double with 25 points and
13 boards in a 75-56 Hawks’ win over Morrisville.
Suderley also contributed 27 points and eight rebounds in a loss to
Skidmore. He hit 19-of-35 field goals and 13-of-14 free
throws.

III – Metro
Player of the Week
Jonathan Jones – Kean University
Senior, Forward, Linden, N.J.
Jones averaged 28.3 points and 14.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1
week of play for Kean. He opened the week with 28 points and 11
rebounds, along with three blocks and three steals in an 80-77
non-conference defeat to Stevens. He then opened New Jersey
Athletic Conference play by producing a double-double which
included a career-high 32 points along with 16 rebounds in an 88-78
conference win over The College of New Jersey. He wrapped up the
week with 25 points and 17 rebounds in a 70-67 NJAC road win at New
Jersey City University.
Division III
– South
Player of the Week
Jason Banzhaf – Catholic University
Senior, Forward, Livingston,
N.J.
Banzhaf notched double-doubles in all three of his team’s victories, capping the week with a 19-point, 14-rebound effort in a win over Goucher. He had 18 points and 13 rebounds in a road win over Carnegie Mellon and added 14 points and ten boards as Catholic topped Haverford. He averaged 17 points and 12.3 rebounds over the three games while shooting 61% from the field, 75% from three-point range, and 91% from the foul line.
