CAPE COD, Mass. -- After finishing the regular-season with a 15-2 record, Stevens Institute of Technology was selected as the number one seed in the 2009 ECAC Division III South Womens Lacrosse Championship. The tournament is a four-team field with two semi-final games, and a championship final.

Sophomore midfielder Afton Marshall tallied a game-high six points to earn Most Outstanding Player honors and lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) womens lacrosse team to a 20-4 win over Cazenovia College in the ECAC Division III Upstate Championship game on Saturday. The Red Hawks close out the season with an 8-7 record while the Wildcats close out 2009 with an 11-4 mark.

Marissa Bonitatibus stopped 10 shots and Michelle Thompson scored six goals to lead fourth-seeded Western New England College to a 16-8 win over third-seed Castleton State College Sunday afternoon in the 2009 ECAC Division III New England Womens Lacrosse Championship. Bonitatibuss play in between the pipes earned her Most Outstanding Player honors as the Golden Bears won their second consecutive ECAC title.
