Division I

Co-Players of the Week

Carly Normandin - University of Massachusetts-Amherst
Sophomore, Outfield, Gardner, Mass.

Normandin batted .571 on the week, connecting for eight hits and 14 RBI.  In five wins for the Minutemen the sophomore belted two homeruns, including a grand slam, one double and a pair of triples.

Brooke Darreff - Saint Joseph's University
Sophomore, Catcher, Hartsville, Pa.

Darreff registered a .714 average at the plate and posted a 1.286 slugging percentage to go along with an .833 on base percentage.  The sophomore hit one homerun and threw out two base runners from behind the plate in a 4-0 week for the Hawks. 

Co-Pitchers of the Week

Brandice Balschmiter - University of Massachusetts-Amherst
Junior, Pitcher, Newark, N.Y.

Balschmiter went 3-0 in three starts, recording a 0.00 ERA while surrendering only four hits.  The junior's week was highlighted by a perfect game performance against Dayton. For the week, Balschmiter struck out 31 opposing hitters and extended her scoreless inning streak to 44 innings. 

Dani Gonzales - Saint Joseph's University
Junior, Pitcher, Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Gonzales posted a perfect 0.00 ERA in 23.1 innings of work, going 4-0 while averaging over a strikeout per inning  She picked up a pair of complete game victories over Temple and La Salle, while allowing just nine base runners all week.

Division II

Player of the Week

Jacque Curtis - Philadelphia University
Senior, Catcher, Punxsutawnee, Pa.

Curtis went 18-for-26 (.692) at the plate, with a 1.192 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage.  The senior scored 12 runs, drove in 16 runs, and connected for three home runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Pitcher of the Week

Tracy Chesebrough - College of Saint Rose
Junior, Pitcher, Duanesburg, N.Y.

Chesebrough tossed three complete game shutouts, recording a 3-0 record and a 0.00 ERA for the week.  The junior struck out 39 batters and did not allow a walk in 22 innings pitched.  Chesebrough surrendered only five hits, and held opponents to a .070 batting average.

Division III - New England

Player of the Week

Jess Ferreira - Suffolk University
Junior, Infield, Cambridge, Mass.

Ferreira scored 17 runs and drove in 14 runs in a 7-3 week for the Rams.  The junior batted .692 (18-for-26) and recorded seven doubles, one triple, one home run, and three stolen bases.  Ferreira's week was highlighted by an 8-for-8 performance with five doubles and seven RBI in a sweep of Daniel Webster.

Co-Pitchers of the Week

Alyssa Verronneau - Bridgewater State College
Junior, Pitcher, Acushnet, Mass.

Verronneau went 2-0 and picked up a save in 15 innings of work over three appearances.  The junior posted a 0.93 ERA, fanned 19 batters, and did not allow a walk for the Bears.  Verronneau threw a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts against Mass. Maritime.

Laura Bower - Western New England College
Junior, Pitcher, Hudson, Mass.


Bowler registered a 0.23 ERA in four games, going 3-1 for the Golden Bears.  The junior pitched 30 innings and allowed only one earned run while striking out 45 batters.  Bower led the Golden Bears to a 1-0, eight-inning shutout against Amherst, and a 2-0 shutout of Salve Regina.

Division III - Upstate

Player of the Week

Megan Kaknis - Union College
Junior, First Base, New Windsor, N.Y.

Kaknis connected for 18 hits in 29 at bats (.621 average) during a 7-1 week for the Dutchwomen.  The junior drove in 11 runs, scored three times, hit two doubles, and one home run.

Pitcher of the Week

Beth Ameno - University of Rochester
Junior, Pitcher, Buffalo, N.Y.

Ameno went 5-0 and also picked up a save for the Yellow Jackets, who went 6-0 on the week.  The junior pitched four complete games, and had a 1.31 ERA in 32 innings of work, while striking out 44 of the batters she faced.

Division III - Metro

Player of the Week

Jamie Belletini - Brooklyn College
Senior, Catcher, Glendale, N.Y.

Belletini batted .706 (12-of-17) and recorded 17 RBI in five games last week.  The senior hit eight doubles and had two games against York where she went 4-for-4 at the plate.

Pitcher of the Week

Jennifer Martinez - St. Joseph's College (NY)
Senior, Pitcher, Bay Shore, N.Y.

Martinez posted a 5-1 mark in the circle, allowing a 0.19 ERA over 36 innings of work.  The senior threw a perfect game against Hunter, registering 20 of her 81 strikeouts on the week in the win.  

Division III - South

Co-Players of the Week

Emma Murtaugh - Dickinson College
Freshman, Catcher/Designated Hitter, Holmdel, N.J.  

Murtaugh hit .769 (10-for-13), drove in eight runs, and scored three runs in a 4-0 week for the Red Devils.  The rookie connected for four doubles and posted a 1.077 slugging percentage.  In the field, Murtaugh was flawless with 11 putouts and no errors.

Kristen Uhas - Lebanon Valley College
Sophomore, First Base, Pottstown, Pa.

Uhas went 9-for-16 (.563) at the plate, had eight RBI, and scored nine runs in a 4-0 week.  The sophomore belted four doubles and one home run, and in a sweep of Scranton reached base eight times (7-of-9) with six runs scored.  

Pitcher of the Week

Lauren Davis - Ursinus College
Sophomore, Pitcher, Mullica Hill, N.J.

Davis went 5-0 in the circle, recording a 0.00 ERA.  The right-hander fanned 56 batters in 33 innings of work, walking four and allowing only 14 hits for the week.
