Division I

Track Athlete of the Week

Phil Leineweber - Liberty University
Junior, New Freedom, Pa.

Leineweber won the 200-meter and 400-meter events while contributing as a member of the winning 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.  The junior's times in the 200-meter (21.65) and 400-meter (48.27) were both IC4A qualifying times.

Co-Field Athletes of the Week

Christian Keller - Monmouth University
Senior, Matawan, N.J.

Keller qualified for the IC4A Championships in three throwing events with his remarkable performance at the 13th Annual Monmouth Season Opener.  The senior won the hammer throw (54.70m) and discus (48.14m) events while placing second in the shot put (16.05m).

Clendon Henderson - Liberty University
Senior, Meadow, Texas

Henderson finished first and met an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the discus at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.  His throw of 58.94 meters made him the NCAA national leader at the time of the throw and set a facility record in the process.  The senior also met another NCAA Regional qualifying mark, finishing second in the hammer throw with a distance of 57.10 meters. 

Division II

Track Athlete of the Week

Torrey Price - Stonehill College
Junior,
Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.

Price took first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.95 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.36 seconds at the Southern Connecticut State Owl Invitational.

Field Athlete of the Week

Maurice Calenda - American International College
Freshman, Bloomfield, Conn.

Calenda's three first place finishes and four total medals helped lead his team to a third-place finish at Westfield State's Jerry Gravel Classic.  The freshman won the long jump (6.82m), the triple jump (13.8m), and the 200-meter dash (23.05), while being a member of the third place 4x400-meter relay team. 

Division III

Co-Track Athletes of the Week

Howard Powell - Wheaton College
Sophomore, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Powell played a role in two event victories at Tufts University's Snowflake Classic.  The sophomore beat out 23 competitors in winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.12 seconds.  He also was the leadoff runner for the victorious 4x100-meter relay team that finished in 43.91 seconds and beat two Division I teams.

Matt Cruse - Bethany College
Sophomore, Naples, Fla.

Cruse, competing at the Bill Van Horne Invitational, won the 110-meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 15.21 seconds.  Cruse also ran a leg for the team's 4x100-meter relay team that finished second with an ECAC qualifying time of 43.63 seconds. 

Field Athlete of the Week

Sean Domer - Grove City College
Sophomore, Indiana, Pa

Domer captured the javelin at the Bill Van Horne Invitational with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 60.59 meters.
