Division II

Player of the Week

Mike Ball - Southern New Hampshire University
Sophomore, Attack, Salem, N.H.

Ball scored 12 goals and added three assists in wins over Molloy (13-6) and American Int'l (21-13).  Against AIC, he recorded seven goals and a pair of assists.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Michael Kennedy - Bryant University
Senior, Goalkeeper, Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.

Kennedy backstopped Bryant to wins against American Int'l and Saint Michael's.  He allowed five goals over the two games, and in the 8-5 victory over Saint Michael's made 15 saves.

Division III - New England

Player of the Week

Travis Brown - Western New England College
Senior, Midfield, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Brown won 35-of-43 face-offs (81 percent) during the week, as WNEC topped Gordon (13-6) and Roger Williams (13-9).  He also picked up a total of 20 ground balls and scored three goals.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Mike Borrero - Wesleyan University
Junior, Goalkeeper, Bayport, N.Y.

Borrero stopped over 80 percent of the shots he faced during the week and allowed 3.12 goals per game in wins over Merchant Marine (8-2) and Bowdoin (13-5).  Borrero made 14 saves against USMMA and 11 saves versus Bowdoin.

Division III - Upstate

Player of the Week

Dan Rago - Rochester Institute of Technology
Senior, Midfield, Geneva, N.Y.

Rago scored the game-winning goal in overtime to end previously undefeated and No. 3 Ithaca's 25-game regular season conference winning streak, 11-10.  He tallied four goals in the game, and had four more in a 19-3 win over Elmira.

Co-Goalkeepers of the Week

Travis Wright - Utica College
Junior, Goalkeeper, Watertown, N.Y.

Wright made 17 saves in an 11-9 win against No. 9 Nazareth, and followed it up with a 14-save effort in an 8-7 double-overtime victory over Oswego.

John Capitani - Skidmore College
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Garden City, N.Y.

Capitani turned away a total of 24 shots to help Skidmore down Amherst (11-10) and Hamilton (9-4).  He ended the week with 6.05 goals against average.

 

Division III - Metro/South

Player of the Week

Mark Hild - Franklin & Marshall College
Junior, Attack, Denver, Colo.

Hild scored seven goals, including five against Dickinson, in a 2-0 week.  The Diplomats topped Swarthmore, 9-6, and Dickinson, 10-8.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Andrew Predun - Manhattanville College
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.

Predun made 15 saves and only allowed three goals in a pair of wins against Mt. St. Vincent (14-3) and Alvernia (16-4).
