St. John Fisher Averages Over Ten Runs a Game to Earn the 2009 ECAC DIVISION III Upstate Baseball Championship

After finishing the regular-season with a 25-10 record, SUNY Fredonia was selected as the number one seed in the 2009 ECAC DIVISION III Upstate Baseball Championship. The tournament is a four-team field with a double-elimination format for the tournament.
In the first round contests on Friday, May 8, SUNY Fredonia (25-10) will host Cazenovia College (22-15) at 3 p.m. while the second seed St. John Fisher College (19-17) will face No. 3 SUNY Brockport (21-21) at 12 p.m. at Fredonia.
The first-round winners will advance to play on Saturday, May 9, at Fredonia. The winner of Fredonia/Cazenovia will face the winner of St. John Fisher/Brockport at 12:30 p.m. in Game 4 of the double elimination format, while the loser of each game will play at 9:30 a.m. in Game 3. The third game on Friday will be between the winners of Game 4 and Game 5 at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 10, the winner of Game 5 and the winner of Game 4 will play for the championships at 12 p.m. If necessary, a Game 7 will be played immediately following Game 6 to complete the double elimination format.
