HOBOKEN, N.J. - Junior back Hope Fulgencio (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior forward Meghan Tennyson (Folsom, La.) tallied two goals apiece as Stevens Institute of Technology captured its first-ever ECAC Division III Women's Metro Soccer Championship with a 5-1 win over Centenary College in the finals on Sunday at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J. Playing in her final game as a member of the Ducks, senior back/forward Sara Roeder (Portland, Ore.) was named the tournament most valuable player.

Stevens wasted little time in taking the lead as the Ducks scored twice in the first 2:11 of the game. Fulgencio got the team on the board first when she scored on a rebounded shot just 68 seconds into the contest. At the 2:11 mark, Tennyson punched her first goal through off a ball sent forward by freshman back/forward Katria Misilo (Short Hills, N.J.).

Senior midfielder Siena York-Carr (Davis, Calif.) continued the scoring onslaught as she headed home a cross from sophomore midfielder Katelyn Stewart (Manchester, N.H.) in the 11^th minute. Stevens extended its lead to 4-0 after 16:17 of game action when Fulgencio buried a shot off a feed from her sister Cristina Fulgencio (Staten Island, N.Y.), who is a senior back/midfielder on the team.

Tennyson picked up the fifth goal for the Ducks when she broke free down field following a lead pass from junior midfielder Audra Clark (Dallas, Texas). That score came at the 26:58 mark of the game.

Centenary picked up its lone goal in the 70^th minute when the Cyclones capitalized on an own goal by Stevens. On the play, senior forward/midfielder Tanya DiDonna (Colts Neck, N.J.) sent a high cross into the box off a corner kick. The ball deflected off a Ducks' defender and into the net.

Freshman goalkeeper Jenn Pontier (Forked River, N.J.) improved to 10-1-1 on the season as she made two saves in the contest. Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Denti (Flemington, N.J.) recorded two stops for the Cyclones.

Stevens owned a 10-6 advantage in shots. The Ducks had five corner kicks to just two by Centenary.

As mentioned, the 2007 ECAC Metro title is the first in the history of the Stevens women's soccer program. The Ducks also qualified for the ECAC Tournament in 2001. From 2002-06, Stevens made five-straight NCAA Tournament appearances. With Sunday's win, the Ducks have officially closed out the season with an overall mark of 15-4-2. The Cyclones wrapped up the 2007 campaign at 14-6-2.
