St. Francis edges Navy to win 2007 ECAC Men's Water Polo Championship


LEWISBURG, Pa. - St. Francis College (NY) defeated the U.S. Naval Academy, 8-7, to win the 2007 Men's Water Polo Championship.  Holding a 4-3 at halftime, St. Francis scored three times in the third period to increase its lead to two goals (7-5).  Navy struck twice in the fourth period to even the score at 7-7, but a power play goal with two minutes remaining in the game put St. Francis ahead for good.  Goalie Nikola Djuric (pictured below) was named tournament MVP after his nine save performance in the championship match.

Bucknell University was victorious in the consolation match, 11-8 winners over Princeton University.
