ECAC Announces 2009 Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Field Hockey All-Stars

CAPE COD, Mass. - Ursinus' sophomore forward Alyssa Thren is the 2009 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Offensive Player of the Year. Thren had 74 points on the season with 34 goals, including five game winners, and six assists.
Tara McGovern, a sophomore defender for Salisbury had an outstanding season with four goals, five assists and 13 points, earning her the title of ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Defensive Player of the Year.
Jenna Disabatino of Wilkes had an outstanding freshman season, naming her 2009 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Rookie of the Year. Disabatino had an impressive 50 points on the season with 18 goals and 14 assists. She helped Wilkes to a 18-4 record.
Joining Thren are forwards Dottie O'Neil of Gwynedd-Mercy and Christine Kemp of Skidmore, both landing a spot on the ECAC first team. Kemp tallied 55 points on the season, scoring 19 goals and 17 assists. O'Neil had recorded 50 points on the season, netting 20 goals and dishing out ten assists.
Megan Yoder and Michelle Wimmer, both junior midfielders for Ursinus, were selected to the ECAC first team. Yoder had 72 points on the season with 26 goals and 20 assists. Wimmer had 17 goals and nine assists, ending with 43 points this season. Cortland's Brenda Semit, was a first team selection with 12 goals and 13 assists, accumulating 37 points on the season.
Joining McGovern is Saint Lawrence's Jennifer Stetson and The College of New Jersey's Alexandria Okuniewicz, both earning frist team spots. Stetson made seven defensive saves this season and had six goals and six assists for St. Lawrence. Okuniewicz ended her season with a total of 17 points and three defensive saves.
Rowan goalkeeper Lisa Apt earns first team ECAC accolades this season. For Rowan, Apt started 16 games and had a save percentage of .790. The sophomore had a goals against average of 1.32. Apt played over 1,269 minutes, allowing only 24 goals and making 88 saves.
