Offensive Player of the Week
Justin Walz - Western
New England College
Sophomore, Quarterback,
Groton, Conn.
Walz completed 20 of 32 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over Hartwick College (9/2). Walz's day did not end there, as the sophomore also ran for two scores on 112 yards rushing. His performance earned him the Gold Helmet Award for Sept. 1.

William Chiccarelli - Curry

Chiccarelli had a monster effort in a win against Worcester State (9/2). The senior recorded nine tackles (six solo), five tackles for a loss, including two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Offensive Player of the Week
Rob Pantalone - Worcester Polytechnic
Institute
Senior, Quarterback, Camp
Hill, Pa.
Pantalone used his legs and his arm in amassing 404 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in a win over Worcester State. The senior ran for a career-high 140 yards on 13 carries including scores of 71 and 27 yards. Through the air, Pantalone was just as successful throwing for 264 yards while going 16 of 26 with three touchdowns.

Chad Pieri -
Alfred University
Sophomore, Linebacker,
LeRoy, N.Y.
Pieri made 10 tackles, including eight unassisted stops, as Alfred won its season opener against Thiel. Pieri recorded two sacks, forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass. The sophomore was also named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Andrew Giuliano - SUNY
Cortland
Junior, Running Back,
Thornwood, N.Y.
Giuliano rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in a win against Morrisville. The junior's yardage output of 247 yards ranks second in school history. Giuliano registered touchdown runs of 73, 58, and 14 yards and also had blocked a punt.
Tanner Kelly - Albright
College
Sophomore, Quarterback,
Clearfield, Pa.
Kelly threw for 447 yards and four touchdowns going 18-22 on pass attempts in leading Albright to a win over Kean. Kelly also contributed on the ground, running for a touchdown. The sophomore's 447 yards are a career-high and the fifth-highest single-game total in school history.
Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Christ - Albright
College
Junior, Safety,
Birdsboro, Pa.
Christ picked off three passes in leading Albright to a victory over Kean. The junior also added five tackles, including four solo stops. His third interception was a spectacular one-handed grab in the end zone to halt a Kean drive. Christ also received MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week
Robert Heller - Waynesburg
College
Freshman, Running Back,
Monongahela, Pa.
Heller continued putting up gaudy offensive numbers in week two as he set two school records in Waynesburg's victory over Wooster. The freshman rushed for 277 yards on 46 carries (both records) and tied another school record with five rushing touchdowns. Heller also caught three passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. In all, Heller accounted for 352 total offensive yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Richard Hauffe - Carnegie Mellon
Senior, Defensive Line,
Manassas, Va.
Hauffe led a defense that had seven sacks in a victory over Grove City College. The senior tallied 3.5 sacks and a career-high nine tackles, including five for a loss. Hauffe's efforts with the rest of the Tartans defense held Grove City to a total of five rushing yards.
