Div. III Football Players of the Week

For the week ending September 16, 2007

Division III - Northeast

Offensive Player of the Week

J.T. Harold - University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth
Junior, Running Back,
North Andover, Mass.

Harold scored five first half touchdowns on scampers of 19, 9, 60, 3, and 20 yards.  He totaled 195 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Defensive Player of the Week

Brian Bernarducci - Salve Regina University
Sophomore, Linebacker,
Pleasantville, N.Y.

Bernarducci led a stout defensive effort with 19 tackles in a victory over Bridgewater State. Bernarducci's big day included 15 solo stops and 1.5 tackles for a loss.

Division III - Northwest

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Vinson Hendrix, Alfred University
Sophomore, Running Back,
Rochester, N.Y.

Hendrix tallied three touchdowns as Alfred defeated St. Lawrence.  The sophomore rushed 13 times for 257 yards, scoring on runs of 72, 63, and 9 yards. Hendrix averaged 19.8 yards per carry. 

Jason Boltus, Hartwick College
Junior, Quarterback,
Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Boltus had a monster day in an upset victory over Ithaca. The junior threw for two touchdowns and 301 yards on 17 of 23 passes and ran for three touchdowns and 107 yards on 23 carries.

Defensive Player of the Week

Justin Hager - Hobart College
Junior, Linebacker,
Salamanca, N.Y.

Hager recorded a team-high 19 tackles, including seven solo stops, in Hobart's upset win over Carnegie Mellon.  

Division III - Southeast

Offensive Player of the Week

Joel Rivera - William Paterson University
Sophomore, Wide Receiver,
Hoboken, N.J.

Rivera had an outstanding day hauling in six passes for 109 yards and four touchdowns. The sophomore had touchdown receptions of 21, 11, 21, and 25 yards in William Paterson's victory over USMMA-Kings Point and is currently tied for the NJAC scoring lead..

Defensive Player of the Week

Kyle Follweiler - Wilkes University
Senior, Linebacker,
Slatington, Pa.

Follweiler recorded 20 tackles, including 14 solo stops against a tough Rowan squad. The senior, who is the two-time MAC defensive player of the year, also tallied six tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and two pass breakups.

Division III - Southwest

Offensive Player of the Week

Bobby Swallow - Washington and Jefferson College
Junior, Quarterback,
Salem, Ohio

Swallow was impressive in W&J's win over Hanover, amassing a career high 307 passing yards. The junior also broke a school record with six touchdown passes. The third year signal caller was efficient going 20-of-25 passing.

Defensive Player of the Week

Bradley Roman - Geneva College
Senior, Linebacker, Penn
Yan, N.Y.

Roman recorded 12 total tackles, including nine unassisted stops and five tackles for loss, in leading Geneva over Westminster College. The senior added to his totals with two forced fumbles and an interception that he returned 34 yards for a touchdown.
