Division I - Championship Subdivision


Co-Offensive Players of the Week


Michael Doughtery - Brown University
Senior, Quarterback, Davie, Fla.

Dougherty passed for an Ivy League and Brown record 526 yards against Holy Cross.  The senior completed 41-of-60 passes and four touchdowns in the loss.  Dougherty had 12 yards rushing to set an Ivy and Brown record with 538 total yards of total offense.

 
Dominic Randolph - College of The Holy Cross
Senior, Quarterback, Amelia, Ohio

Randolph completed 41-of-54 pass attempts for 430 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-34 victory over Brown.  Randolph tied his own school record for completions in a game and was the first player in Holy Cross history to have three career games over 400 yards passing.

 

Defensive Player of the Week


A.J. Gross - Virginia Military Institute
Freshman, Linebacker, Waldorf, Md.

Gross led VMI with 13 tackles (six solo) in the 47-20 win over Costal Carolina.  Gross tied the Big South single-game record with five tackles-for-loss and tallied three sacks.  All three of Gross' sacks came in the second half as the Keydets shut out the Chanticleers and only allowed 20 yards of offense in the third quarter.

 

Division II


Offensive Player of the Week


John Wiechman - Southern Connecticut State University
Sophomore, Running Back, Buxton, Maine

Wiechman set a career-high in rushing yards for the third straight game with 229 yards.  The sophomore rushed 32 times and scored four touchdowns in the win over Bentley.



Defensive Player of the Week


Jean Simeon - American International College
Senior, Defensive Line, Atlantic City, N.J.

Simeon recorded a team-high 13 tackles (seven solo) in the win over Stonehill, 24-10.  Simeon also had game-highs with six tackles-for-loss and three and a half sacks.


Division III - Northeast


Offensive Player of the Week


Eric McGrath - Trinity College
Senior, Quarterback, Lynn, Mass.

McGrath set new school records for completions, passing yards, and total offense as the Bantams won 28-27 against Tufts.  McGrath threw for 470 yards and four touchdowns, while completing 34-of-57 pass attempts.

 

Co-Defensive Players of the Week


Tom Sazalno - Worcester State College
Junior, Defensive Back, Hyde Park, Mass.

Sazalno blocked three PAT's in Worcester State's 32-31 win over Maine Maritime.  Sazalno also recorded four tackles and a pass break-up to hold the Mariners to just seven yards passing.

 
Eric Pender - Amherst College
Junior, Defensive Line, Drexel Hill, Pa.

Pender led the Lord Jeffs over Colby College, 23-2.  The junior had a season-high 10 tackles, including three sacks for a loss of 30 yards.  Pender helped the Amherst defense hold Colby to just 51 yards rushing, over 100 yards less than its average.

 


Division III - Northwest


Co-Offensive Players of the Week


Jack Phelan - Hartwick College
Senior, Wide Receiver, Slingerlands, N.Y.

Phelan caught 11 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown to lead the Hawks over Alfred University, 24-19.  The senior's touchdown catch of 85 yards came in the first quarter.  Phelan also added two catches over 30 yards and a 52-yard reception.  He holds the Division III record for receiving yards in a game with 289, now has two of the four highest single-game totals in the nation.


Chris Coney - Union College
Sophomore, Running Back, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Coney ran for a career-high 243 yards and three touchdowns as Union defeated Hobart, 38-35.  The sophomore registered rushing scores of 51, one, and one yards.  This was Coney's first career 200-yard game and fourth 100-plus yard game of the season.

 

Defensive Player of the Week


Ben Tomaino - Hartwick College
Junior, Defensive Line, Oneonta, N.Y.

Tomaino tied a career-high with 11 tackles and made two crucial plays on Alfred's last drive to lead Hartwick to a 24-19 victory.  Tomaino registered a sack for a 10-yard loss with 30 seconds remaining in the game.  The junior forced a fumble on the Saxons' last play of the game to secure the victory.

 


Division III - Southeast


Offensive Player of the Week


Matt Cook - Delaware Valley College
Sophomore, Running Back, Sellinsgrove, Pa.

Cook rushed for 233 yards on 28 carries and four touchdowns in a come-from-behind victory over Lebanon Valley, 26-14.  Cook's four scores tied a school record and his 233 yards is the second-highest rushing output in school history. 

 

Defensive Player of the Week

 
Neil Fay - SUNY Brockport
Sophomore, Defensive Back, Olean, N.Y.

Fay collected six solo tackles in a 51-48 win over The College of New Jersey.  Fay also picked off two passes and returned a blocked extra point attempt 87 yards for two points. 


 

Division III - Southwest

Offensive Player of the Week


Pat O'Connor - Dickinson College
Junior, Wide Receiver, Exton, Pa.

O'Connor accounted for 396 all-purpose yards in the 36-34 loss at Johns Hopkins.  The junior tied a school record with 12 receptions, while recording 248 yards and three touchdowns.  O'Connor also returned six kickoffs for 137 yards and added 11 yards rushing.

 

Defensive Player of the Week


Dylan August - Waynesburg University
Junior, Free Safety, Bethel Park, Pa.

August recorded five tackles in the Yellow Jackets' 63-26 win over Westminster.  August also intercepted two passes, returning one 45 yards for a touchdown.
