ECAC Announces Final Lambert Meadowlands Football Poll1/5/09The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the final weekly ECAC® Lambert Meadowlands Football Poll presented by FieldTurf Tarkett. Penn State maintained its hold on the top spot in the FBS poll. Richmond, a 24-7 winner over Montana in the FCS National Championship game, has taken over the top spot in the FBS poll. In Division II, California (Pa.) finished in the top spot after advancing to the NCAA Semifinals. Cortland State finished as the top team in the Division III poll after a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals. |

In the eighth weekly ECAC® Lambert Meadowlands Football Poll presented by FieldTurf Tarkett, three of the four of the teams have remained unchanged at the top, but once again there is a new team atop the Division III poll. Cortland State, a 42-0 winner over Curry in the second round of the NCAA playoffs has re-gained the top spot after Wesley fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor.

CAPE COD, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the seventh weekly ECAC® Lambert Meadowlands Football Poll presented by FieldTurf Tarkett. Three of the four of the teams have remained unchanged at the top, but there are several changes in the Division III poll. Wesley (9-1), has gained sole possession of the top spot in Division III after sharing it with Ithaca last week.

TROY, N.Y. Sophomore wide receiver Ray Davis caught nine passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns, including a go-ahead 12-yard score with 4:07 remaining in the fourth quarter, to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team over Alfred University, 34-31, in the ECAC North Atlantic Championship Game at 86 Field.

The St. John Fisher College football team claimed the ECAC Northeast Championship with a 17-7 win over host Husson University in Bangor, ME. With the win, Fisher raised its record, and finishes the 2008 campaign with a 7-4 overall record.

Senior Garet Lynch (Valley Stream, NY/Springville Gardens) set several school records and established a new NCAA Division III rushing record as he led The College at Brockport Football team to a thrilling 70-68 victory over Hartwick College Saturday in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northwest Bowl game at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Lynch was named the Most Valuable Player of the game as he rushed for an NCAA record 370 yards in the first half.

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Behind another top rushing performance by the 2008 MAC Rookie of the Year Josan Holmes (Ambler, PA/Wissahickon), the Albright College Lions avenged their 2007 ECAC South Atlantic Bowl loss at the hands of Montclair State by defeating the Red Hawks by the final score of 42-14 Saturday afternoon at Sprague Field to earn the 2008 ECAC South Central Bowl title.
