ECAC Announces Women's Gymnastics Weekly Awards

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces its weekly awards for Women's Gymnastics for the week of competition ending Feb. 16th.

Gymnast of the Week

Katie Waldman – William & Mary, Jr., Omaha, NE
Katie earned a 1st place finish on bars (9.85) against 3 other teams, which also helped her team reach a 48.85 total. Katie was also 2nd in the all-around against 7 other gymnasts who also competed all 4 events.

Specialist of the Week

Rose Hoffman – Penn, Jr., Bexley, OH
Junior, Rose Hoffman scored her career high on two events. Rose scored her personal best of 9.750 on vault and a 9.8 on the uneven bars. Her scores helped PENN edged out West Chester, Bridgeport and William & Mary to win the Quad meet in The Palestra.

Rookie of the Week

Madison Brooks – Temple University, Fr., Gainesville, FL
Madi Brooks was strong for the Cherry and White in Saturday’s meet against Bowling Green and Illinois State. The Gainesville, Fla. native competed on vault, bars and beam for the Owls. Brooks was superb on vault, posting a 9.7 on the event. The freshman earned a 9.65 on bars and tied for the team-high on beam with an outstanding 9.7.

Mary Graceyn Gordon – William & Mary, Jr., Burlington, NC
This was Mary Graceyn's 1st time this year competing in the all-around. All her scores counted towards the final team score.

Gymnast of the Week

Jessica Meakim – West Chester University, Jr., Downingtown, PA
Jessica had her highest all-around score of the year of a 38.925. This score was enough to win the all-around against some tough competition in our quad meet against Penn, Bridgeport, and William & Mary. She also tied for 2nd on the floor exercise with a 9.85.

Specialist of the Week

Regan Dillon – University of Bridgeport, Jr., Ringle, WI
A personal best for this junior, Dillon rocked her bar set for the Knights with a stick on her full twisting double. She brought in a team high score today of a 9.8 to place second on the event.

Rookie of the Week

Kiah Johnson – West Chester University, Fr., Philadelphia, PA
Kiah had an amazing meet back in her hometown of Philadelphia. She won the vault with her career high of 9.825. She competed on the balance beam lineup for the first time this season and had her best routine finishing with a very difficult double back dismount. She scored a 9.725 for a 2nd place finish on that event. On floor exercise she also hit her career high of a 9.8 and tied for a 3rd place finish.

Coaches Choice

Molly Grau – University of Bridgeport, Jr., Jackson, NJ
Molly jumped into the season late for UB after having compartment syndrome surgery on her legs. She missed a large part of preseason based on her performances each week. She scored a 9.65 for the Knights.
