ECAC Announces Men’s Basketball Players of the Month for December
DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Month for December.
Division II
Player of the Month
Jordan Forbes - Jr., G, Salem University
Jordan Forbes entered the New Year ranked 20th in the nation in scoring. He ended the month of December with four consecutive double-doubles and nearly averaged a double-double for the month with 23.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Forbes narrowly missed a triple-double with 33 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in Salem's 103-92 road victory at Glenville State, scoring nine of his points during a game-breaking 18-0 second-half run. He opened the month with 33 points in Salem's 86-71 win over Seton Hill.
Rookie of the Month
Robbie Heath - Fr., G, West Chester University
Heath stepped into big minutes immediately for West Chester. The two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division Athlete of the Week had scoring performances of 28 and 35 points this December, currently averaging 24.3 points per game. His month is highlighted by a 20-20 performance against Mercyhurst, posting 24 points and 20 rebounds.
Division III - NORTH
Player of the Month
Mason Memmelaar – So., F, RPI
Memmelaar led his team in December with 16.6 points per game, scoring 22 points in three of this five games. He added at least five rebounds and multiple assists in four games. Memmelaar flirted with double-doubles all month. He posted 23 points, seven rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block against St. Lawrence, 22 points with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals against Bard.
Rookie of the Month
Will Talbert - Fr., G, Utica College
Talbert won Empire 8 Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week once each this December. Has led Utica to an impressive 9-2 start overall and 4-1 in the month of December. He had 21 points each in games against SUNY Delhi and Anna Maria to be chosen as the MVP of the Utica College Classic. The freshman averaged 13.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.
Division III - SOUTH
Player of the Month
Sam Majekodunmi - Jr., G, Albright College
Majekodunmi had a dramatic December after he hit a game-winning three-pointer in final seconds to defeat previously unbeaten Hood. The junior guard was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on 12/17 and finished up his month by scoring 44 points against Cabrini on 12/30, which is the most points scored by a MAC Commonwealth so far this season.
Division III - METRO
Player of the Month
Frank Basile - Sr., G., St. Joseph’s College
Basile was a double-double machine, posting three in four games in December. The senior tallied 30 or more points twice including a 31 point and 12 rebound performance in a win over McDaniel. Basile Averages 27.8 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Rookie of the Month
DJ Campbell - Fr., G, Stockton University
Campbell led the team in scoring (14.2 per game), rebounding (6.2 per game) and steals (14) for the month. He set a career-high with 10 rebounds against Roanoke. Campbell was named NJAC Rookie of the Week three times in December and has four such awards overall and is the top freshman scorer in the NJAC.

The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
