ECAC Announces Softball Championship Field

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced Penn State Behrend as the overall top-seed in the 2019 ECAC Division III Softball Championship. First-round play will begin on Wednesday, May 8.

In the first round of games, No. 1 Penn State Behrend (27-11) will receive a bye and host the weekend of the championship. The No. 2 seed Neumann University will host No. 7 Alvernia University. No. 3 Pfeiffer University will travel to No. 6 Franciscan University. The final matchup of the first round features No. 4 Albright College hosting No. 5 Hunter College.

The semifinals (Saturday, May 11) and championship game (Sunday, May 12) will be held on the campus of Penn State Behrend who will host the weekend for the second consecutive season.

First Round - Wednesday, May 8 at campus sites
*Game times are TBD

*Game 2: No. 4 Albright College (24-17) vs. No. 5 Hunter College (20-11) at Albright - Time: 4:00 p.m.

*Game 3: No. 3 Pfeiffer University (33-7) vs. No. 6 Franciscan University (24-14) at Franciscan - Time: 2:00 p.m.

*Game 4: No. 2 Neumann University (29-12) vs. No.7 Alvernia University (24-17-1) at Neumann - Time: 4:00 p.m.

Semifinals - Saturday, May 11 - Penn State Behrend
Game 5: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 - 1:00 p.m.

Game 6: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 - 3:00 p.m.


Championship - Sunday, May 12 - Penn State Behrend
Game 7: Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 - 1:00 p.m.
