ECAC Announces Division I Softball All-ECAC and Major Award Winners
DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2019 Division I Softball Awards and All-ECAC selections.
James Madison University picked up a trio of major awards with Odicci Alexander winning Player of the Year, Megan Good winning Pitcher of the year and the teams head coach Loren LaPorte winning Coach of the year. To round out the major awards University of Maryland Baltimore County's Courtney Coppersmith is voted Rookie of the Year.

Alexander won the CAA Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season after batting .362 in 152 at-bats. The junior hit 14 homeruns, 10 doubles and drove in 56 runs in 2019. She was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the week once and was named CAA Pitcher of the week twice. In the CAA Alexander would be named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Good had a stellar senior season going 19-5 in 23 games started. She would toss 19 complete games with an earned run average of 1.49. Good was a strikeout machine with 179 in just 155.1 innings pitched. Her efforts in the circle had her claim CAA Pitcher of the Year for the fourth consecutive season while being named CAA Pitcher of the Week four times throughout the season. Good is a top 10 finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
Coopersmith had a freshman campaign for the record books. She became the first player in America East history to be named both Rookie and Pitcher of the Year. She threw a perfect game and four no hitters. Two of those no hitters came in consecutive performances in the America East Tournament. In April she became the first ever player in America East history to sweep all weekly awards winning Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the week. Coppersmith set a school record for strikeouts in a single season and second most single season wins in school history. Coppersmith had amassed 229.1 innings pitched, 342 strikeouts, 29 complete games and a 1.62 earned run average. She also threw 14 shutouts in 2019 another single season school record.

LaPorte was named CAA Coach of the year for the second consecutive season. 2019 she would win her first CAA Championship as the head coach and led the team to their second regular-season title. LaPorte guided the team to a 47-4 record and had the team ranged in all three major polls since the preseason.
