ECAC Announces DI Women’s Lacrosse Major Awards and All-ECAC selections

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Division I Awards and All-ECAC selections in women's lacrosse for the 2018 season.

Kylie Ohlmiller from Stony Brook University was tabbed ECAC Offensive Player of the Year. Olivia Conti from Towson University took the Defensive Player of the Year honor, while Loyola University of Maryland's Livy Rosenweig was voted the Rookie of the Year. Stony Brook's Joe Spallina rounds out the major awards with the Coach of the Year honor.

Ohlmiller, the Offensive Player of the Year, had an outstanding year for the Seawolves. The senior captain has 86 goals and 66 assists for 152 total points this season, which ranks No. 1 nationally. The attacker leads the country with an average of 7.53 points per game, earning her a spot on the All-ECAC First Team.

Conti was voted Defensive Player of the Year after a strong sophomore campaign for Towson. She leads the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and set a new program record with 52 caused turnovers. The defender also leads the CAA and ranks seventh nationally with 2.59 caused turnovers per game and ranks fourth in the CAA with 2.35 ground balls per game.

Rosenzweig broke a few Loyola freshman records on her way to being named Rookie of the Year. The freshman attacker set new records for assists (47), draw controls (89) and overall points (102) in a year thanks to 55 goals scored and 47 assists. Rosenzweig is among the top-20 national leaders in both assists and points this season.

Spallina led No. 1 ranked Stony Brook to the only unbeaten regular season in NCAA Division I lacrosse with a 17-0 record, including a sixth-straight America East Conference championship. The Seawolves went 8-0 against Top-25 teams in 2018, and have the No. 1 non-conference RPI in the country.
