ECAC Announces Baseball Players of the Week for Week Ending April 29.

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Baseball Players of the Week for the week ending April 29.
 
DIVISION II
Player of the Week
Shane Dressler – Sr., 1B, West Chester University 
 
Dressler had a great week as he went 9-for-16 (.562) with nine RBIs, eight runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and five walks. The senior started his week against St. Thomas Aquinas College when he went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored and a walk in a 12-8 loss. Dressler bounced back the next day going 4-for-5 with four runs scored, four RBIs, a double, a home run and three walks to help West Chester take two games from Bloomsburg University to open the four-game set. In game one on Sunday, Dressler went 0-for-3 but he did manage to work a walk and score a run in what was a tough 5-4 loss in game three of the series. Dressler recovered in a big way in the final game of the series as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBIs, one double and one huge two-run home run that ultimately carried West Chester to 10-7 come from behind victory.
 
Pitcher of the Week
David Cricks – Sr., P, Gannon University
 
Cricks fired off a complete-game shutout of the No. 8-ranked Mercyhurst University Lakers on Sunday. The senior took a perfect game into the fifth inning and a no-hitter into the seventh against the Lakers. He struck out 10 and only walked two batters. It was Crick's second consecutive start without allowing a run. He also pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Lake Erie College on Tuesday.
 
Rookie of the Week
Conall Roberts – Fr., INF, University of Bridgeport
 
Conall Roberts was voted Rookie of the Week after an impressive showing for the Purple Knights. The rookie went 7-of-16 at the plate this week (.476), getting hits in all five games for the University of Bridgeport. He scored one run and knocked in four for the Purple Knights. Roberts also posted a .471 on-base percentage in those five contests as they went 3-2 on the week.
 
 
DIVISION III - METRO
Player of the Week
Jack McCann – Fr., C, US Merchant Marine Academy
 
Jack McCann knocked in a career-high seven runs in a 19-6 victory over Purchase College on Saturday, including a grand slam to end the contest via the run-rule. The freshman also had an RBI single and an RBI double in the affair. Earlier in the week at Division II New York Institute of Technology, McCann went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly. For the week, he went 4-for-7 at the plate with a homerun, eight RBIs and a double.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Adam Donovan – Sr., P, DeSales University
 
Donovan posted a 2-0 record last week helping the Bulldogs clinch the No. 1 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship. In 11.1 innings of work, he allowed no runs, scatter eight hits and struck out 14 batters. Donovan tossed six scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out 10 batters against Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham. He added 5.1 innings of work against Wilkes University, allowing just five hits and striking out four.
 
Rookie of the Week
Steven DiGirolamo – Fr., OF, William Paterson University
 
DiGirolamo earns the Rookie of the Week honor after leading the team at the plate with a .414 average in six games. He went 12-for-29 at the plate with five RBIs, five runs scored, three doubles, and a triple. He recorded a .586 slugging percentage and .452 on-base percentage. DiGirolamo hit safely in four of the games, with three multi-hit games. His biggest game of the week was a 5-for-6 outing with two RBIs, three doubles, and a run scored in the opener of a doubleheader against No. 6 Rowan University.
 
 
DIVISION III – NORTH
Player of the Week
Ethann Meister – Sr., INF, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
 
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute senior Ethann Meister led the Engineers to a 3-2 week, batting a team-best .400 (6 for 15) with a double, three home runs, four runs scored and eight runs batted in. He compiled a .550 on-base percentage and a 1.067 slugging percentage with a stolen base.
 
Pitcher & Rookie of the Week
Cam Graham – Fr., P, Husson University
 
Graham threw a no-hitter against conference opponent Lyndon State University on Sunday. The freshman went seven innings, allowed no hits and no runs, while walking two, and striking out seven. The 1-0 no-hitter was the first no-hitter for a Husson University pitcher since 2006 and the first for a freshman.  
 
 
DIVISION III – SOUTH
Player of the Week
Hunter Breon – So., SS, Penn State Altoona
 
Penn State University-Altoona infielder Hunter Breon had a huge week at the plate to help the Lions go 6-0. On the week, the sophomore hit .609 (14-for-23) with 13 runs scored, 10 RBIs, five doubles, one triple, three walks, and one stolen base. Breon posted a .630 on-base percentage and slugged .913.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Bryce Schnatterly – Sr., P, Washington & Jefferson College
 
Schnatterly tossed 6.1 shutout innings in Saturday’s 5-1 game one win over conference rival Grove City College, scattering seven hits with a walk. He matched his career high of eight strikeouts in the game, including three-straight punchouts to get out of a first and second, no out jam in the sixth inning. Schnatterly earned the win to improve to 6-0 this season and is now tied for the fifth-most career victories in program history (21).
 
Rookie of the Week
Richard Carey – Fr., C, Penn State Altoona
 
Carey had an impressive week at the plate, leading Penn State Altoona to a 6-0 record. In game two of last Monday's doubleheader at non-conference foe Saint Vincent College, Carey went 3-for-3 with one run batted in, a run scored, a walk, and a stolen base. In game one at conference opponent Mount Aloysius College on Thursday, the freshman catcher batted 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Starting both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Medaille College, Carey combined to go 6-for-9 with three runs scored, one double, one RBI, and one walk. On the week, Carey hit .688 (11-for-16) with five runs scored, five RBIs, two walks, one double, and one stolen base. He posted an on-base percentage of .684 while slugging .750.
