ECAC Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Week Ending Mar. 25

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending Mar. 25.  
 
DIVISION III – METRO
Track Athlete of the Week
Alisha Singleton – Sr., Rutgers University-Camden
 
Singleton earns the Track Athlete of the Week honor after three strong performances at the Delaware Classic at the University of Delaware over the weekend. She qualified for ECACs in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a 15.66 to finish third out of 11 hurdlers. That time currently ranks her fifth in the Atlantic Region and 30th nationally. She also ran the 100-meter dash, clocking a 13.12, just over a tenth of a second off of another ECAC qualification. That time is currently 12th in the region. She also helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a time of 54.89, which is fourth regionally.
 
Field Athlete of the Week
Kyleigh Stevenson – So., Rutgers University-Camden
 
Stevenson earns the Field Athlete of the Week accolade after competing in both the javelin and shot put at the Delaware Classic over the weekend. She qualified for ECACs in the javelin with a throw of 31.65 meters. That mark is currently the second farthest throw in the Atlantic Region this season and placed fourth in the event. Stevenson also set a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of 9.11 meters, good for seventh in the region and ninth out 13 in the event.
 
Rookie of the Week
Lorraine Mahoney – Fr., Rutgers University-Camden
 
Mahoney was voted Rookie of the Week after a good showing at the Delaware Classic over the weekend. The rookie competed in both the javelin and discus throws. She had a toss of 28.60 meters in the javelin to place seventh out of 16 in the event; that throw currently ranks sixth in the Atlantic Region. Mahoney then threw 28.05 meters in the discus to place 12th. Her discus throw currently ranks fifth regionally.
 
DIVISION III – NORTH
Track Athlete of the Week
Megan Alper – So., Alfred University
 
Sophomore Megan Alper finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.26 to lead the pack at the Division II, California University of Pennsylvania Early Bird Meet. She also finished eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.55. Alper was also a member of the 4x100-meter relay team who took third with a time of 54.56.
 
DIVISION III – SOUTH
Track Athlete of the Week
Heidi Hoffman – So., Grove City College
 
Hoffman helped Grove City College’s 3,200-meter relay team take first place at the California University of Pennsylvania Early Bird Invitational Saturday with a time of 10:24.04. She then finished as the top Division III runner (6th overall) in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:28.98. 
 
Field Athlete of the Week
Alyssa Ward – Sr., Franklin & Marshall College
 
Alyssa Ward took home three individual first-place finishes last week for Franklin & Marshall College. She was first in the triple jump with a leap of 11.77 meters and first in the high jump at 1.55 meters. Ward finished the day with a first place finish in the 100-meter sprint with a time of 12.93 seconds.
 
Rookie of the Week
Gretchen Elsey – Fr., Grove City College
 
Elsey took third place in the high jump at the California University of Pennsylvania Early Bird Invitational by clearing 1.53 meters. Her jump also leads the Presidents Athletic Conference this season and is tied for 35th among Division III competitors.
