ECAC Announces Women's Basketball Players of the Week for Week Ending Feb. 4.

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 4.
 
DIVISION II
Player of the Week
Porscha Speller – Sr., G, West Chester University
 
Speller performed well this week as she posted team-highs for points in each of West Chester University’s two wins this week. The guard averaged an impressive 23 points per game along with five rebounds per contest. For the week Speller shot 56 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three-point land. Speller was also lights out from the free throw line as she shot 87.5 percent including 91.7 percent (11-for-12) opposite Kutztown University. In the opening game against Millersville University, Speller was 9-of-18 from the floor and 4-of-6 from downtown for 25 points. The senior also recorded seven rebounds, two steals and a block in the 82-63 victory. Against Kutztown, Speller scored 21 points along with three rebounds, two steals and an assist in a 93-69 victory.
 
Rookie of the Week
Taylor Tomlinson – Fr., F, Dominican College
 
Tomlinson averaged 13.5 points and nine rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Dominican College Lady Chargers.  In the game against Felician University, Tomlinson was 7-for-10 from the field with 17 points off the bench. The rookie also picked up eight rebounds, two steals and two assists in the 65-57 victory. Later in the week against Pace University, Tomlinson was 4-for-9 from the floor, with 10 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Chargers fell 57-49.
 
DIVISION III – Metro
Player of the Week
Kaitlyn Read – Gr., G, New York University
 
Read put New York University on her back in a pair of five-point conference wins this weekend. The graduate student averaged 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game for the Violets. In Sunday's come-from-behind win at Case Western Reserve University, Read battled through foul trouble as she scored 30 points (including eight in the fourth quarter) and grabbed nine boards as the Violets were able rally for their fourth straight victory 67-62. Earlier in the week against Carnegie Mellon University, a 68-63 victory, Read was 11-of-25 from the field with 30 points and nine rebounds. The guard also picked up four steals and three assists in the game.
 
Rookie of the Week
Hailee Porricelli – Fr., G, Stockton University
 
Hailee Porricelli helped Stockton University go 1-1 on the week. In the 61-53 loss to Rutgers University-Camden, Porricelli recorded six points, five rebounds and two assists. Later in the week against Montclair State University, Porricelli was 4-for-9 from the field and 3-for-5 from downtown with 13 points and two rebounds. The freshman also recorded two assists in the contest.
 
DIVISION III – North
Player of the Week
Alayne Felix – Jr., F, Maine Maritime Academy
 
Felix helped lead the Mariners to a big 2-0 week with a pair of victories over Colby-Sawyer College, 54-37 and New England College, 59-55. The junior averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, one steal and one block per game, while shooting 50 percent (13-of-26) from the floor. In a 54-37 win over the Chargers, the forward tallied 11 points, six assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block. Felix followed that performance with a team-high 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in the 59-55 win over the Pilgrims.  
 
Rookie of the Week
Antanasia Chambers – Fr., G, SUNY Canton
 
Chambers posted a game-high 23 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in a narrow, 60-54 loss at State University of New York at Delhi.  The freshman was 9-for-25 from the floor and 3-for-10 from beyond the arc.
 
DIVISION III – SOUTH
Player of the Week
Sydni Bickford – Jr., G, Pfeiffer University
 
Bickford led the Falcons to a perfect 3-0 week as she recorded a career-high 33 points in a win over William Peace University. In her three games, Bickford knocked down 14 3-pointers and averaged 22.3 points per game. The junior guard also recorded 13 steals in the three contests and added 2.7 rebounds and two assists per game, while only committing four turnovers. In her 33-point outburst, Bickford went 13-of-23 from the floor and 6-of-13 from long range despite only playing 26 minutes. The juniors’ effort helped the Falcons to victories over Salem College 73-57 and Meredith College 82-70.
 
Rookie of the Week
Shelby Johnson – Fr., F, Wesley College
 
Shelby Johnson recorded a pair of double-doubles last week for the Wesley College Wolverines. In the first game against the York College Spartans, an 83-48 defeat, Johnson recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds along with a block. In the second game against St. Mary’s College of Maryland, a 59-55 victory, Johnson scored 12 points and grabbed 22 rebounds.
