Tyler Morrissey’s senior season on the field has him receive this award for the second consecutive year. He also won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the year honor in 2018. Marking another two-peat for the linebacker. Morrissey racked up eight and a half sacks which ranked ninth in the PSAC and a total of 86 tackles, good enough for twelfth in the conference. Not only did he cause havoc in the backfield for quarterbacks with his 8.5 sacks, he took down the ball-carrier for a loss 10 times for a total loss of 55-yards. The senior also forced three fumbles and recovered one.

Coach Zwaan led the Golden Rams to a 10-1 record in 2018. With a perfect 7-0 record against PSAC opponents. The team led the PSAC in rushing offense as they went on to win the PSAC Championship outright, the first time since 1971. West Chester went into the NCAA playoff with an undefeated regular season, a mark that hadn’t been done since 1967. The 10 wins were also the first time since 2013 that the team reached the double-digit mark.
