ECAC Announces Division I Women's Soccer All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2017 Division I Women’s Soccer All-ECAC Team.
 
 
Ashleigh Fairow from the United States Naval Academy took home Offensive Player of the Year, while Jennifer Cafferky of Central Connecticut State University was awarded Defensive Player of the Year. The Rookie of the Year award went to Kelsey Goldring from Quinnipiac University and Simon Riddiough from Hofstra University was selected as Coach of the Year.

Fairow scored goals in 11 different contests this season for the Midshipmen. The Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year found the back of the net 13 times including eight game-winning goals, the second most in the NCAA.

Cafferky finished up a stellar career this year at Central Connecticut State. She was awarded Northeast Conference Defender of the Year, and selected to the All NEC First Team for the fourth time in her career. She led a defense that secured six-straight conference shutouts and only allowed two goals in conference during the regular season.

Goldring earns the award after putting up a sensational rookie season for the Bobcats. She led all Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rookies in points (18) and assists (8) while ranking second in goals with five, three of which were game winners. The MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year was also twice named MAAC Rookie of the Week during the season.

Coach Riddiough led the Pride to a 15-4-2 record this season. The 12th year coach helped the program rebound from a team that did not make the conference tournament last season, to a team that went 9-0 in conference play and won both the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season and tournament titles.
