ECAC Announces 2012 Division III New England Men's Lacrosse All-Stars

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference has announced its Division III New England Region Men’s Lacrosse All-Stars for the 2012 campaign. Receiving individual awards (pictured, left to right), attacker Patrick White of Western New England University was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, Western New England defenseman Aaron Harris is the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year, and Cole Bailey of Tufts and Luke Aubrey of Roger Williams universities are the co-ECAC Rookies of the Year.

White, a senior, was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America third team. The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player-of-the Year was voted to the All-New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s Division III team and was a member of the All-TCCC team for the third straight year.  White led the Golden Bears in scoring by accumulating 66 points (48 goals, 14 assists) and finished his career with 203 points (147 goals, 56 assists). He registered his 200th career point in the Golden Bears’ NCAA Division III tournament first-round win against Connecticut College.

Harris, a junior, was named a USILA Division III All-America honorable mention pick after causing a team- high 28 turnovers and scooping up 41 ground balls. The CCC Defensive Player of the Year helped anchor a defense that allowed only 6.95 goals a game. Harris was also selected to the first teams of All-CCC and All-NEILA. He scored his only goal of the season and the second of his career against Wentworth.  

Bailey made an instant impact for the Jumbos in their run to the National Semifinals. He led the team in points (68) and assists (42) and was first in the New England Small College Athletic Conference in points, assists and assists per game (2.00). The freshman attacker took home a slew of awards including NEILA Division III Rookie of the Year, second-team All-NEILA, NESCAC Rookie of the Year and All-NESCAC Second Team. Bailey registered a point in all 21 of the team’s games, including a career-high seven against Bowdoin on April 25 – a game in which he registered a career-best four goals.

Aubrey was a mainstay in the cage for the Hawks, starting all 16 games while posting a 7.98 goals- against average and a .597 save percentage. He averaged 10.36 saves per game.  Aubrey was named CCC Rookie of the Year and received All-Commonwealth Coast second-team honors after compiling a 10-6 record in his first season.

The head coaches, or his/her designee, within the ECAC membership voted on the teams and individual awards.
