The Loyola men's lacrosse team is in the big dance again. The dancing partner - top-seeded Duke. The Greyhounds travel to Durham this Saturday for a nationally televised NCAA Tournament match-up with the Blue Devils. Game time is slated for 2:34 p.m. on ESPNU with Eamon McAnaney calling the play-by-play and Matt Ward providing color commentary.

In a vote by the league coaches, three Loyola Greyhounds were honored with postseason ECAC awards. Senior Shane Koppens has been named the 2008 ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, while freshman Jake Hagelin has been tabbed the ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year. The performance of those two student-athletes throughout the season helped lead Loyola to the ECAC Lacrosse League title and helped Coach Charley Toomey earn ECAC Co-Coach of the Year honors.

Loyola will play No. 1 seed Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday in Durham, N.C. The Greyhounds and Blue Devils will square off in a nationally televised game on ESPNU with face-off slated for 2:30 p.m.

After a week of reaction to the April 26 decision by the Board of Trustees to move Hobart lacrosse from Division I to Division III, last night the Board gathered via phone to assess the situation. In a landmark decision, the Board determined that Hobart should remain in Division I lacrosse.
