Neumann's Schroeder Named Player of the Week
Player of the Week
Jessica Schroeder-Neumann
Junior, Forward, Sudbury, Ontario/Sudbury Wolves
Jessica Schroeder tallied an amazing nine points in a weekend
sweep of Sacred Heart. Friday night the Knights won 5-3. The
forward finished with a goal and three assists. Schroeder came back
Saturday night an surpassed that total, notching a goal and four
assists for five points. The junior now ranks #1 in the country in
assists and #2 in points per game.
Goalie of the Week
Amy Torgerson-RIT
Sophomore, Owatonna, Minn./Gilmour Academy
Torgerson recorded consecutive shutouts, stopping 35-of-37 shots
in three wins. On Tuesday, she stopped all 13 shots she faced
in a 1-0 win over Hamilton. On Friday, Torgerson made eight
saves in a 2-0 win over the Lakers. She ended the week by
stopping 14 shots in a 10-2 win over the Lakers. Torgerson is
6-0-2 this season with a 1.84 goals against average and .880 save
percentage. Torgerson has never lost a collegiate game, and
is 11-0-2 in two seasons.
Rookie of the Week
Teal Gove-Plattsburgh State
Forward, Berwick, Ontario/Ontario Hockey Academy
Gove scored a goal and an assist in Plattsburgh's 5-0 win at Saint
Anselm, tying her single-game career high of two points. Also had
two shots and a plus-2 rating. For the season, she leads Cardinals
freshman with six goals and nine points.
Honor Roll
Katie Stack-RIT
Junior, Forward, Batavia, N.Y./Rochester Edge
Stack recorded her third hat-trick of the season, with a
shorthanded, even strength, and power-play goal in Saturday's 10-2
win over SUNY Oswego. She also had hat-tricks against SUNY
Potsdam and Amherst earlier in the season. Stack leads the
team and is third nationally with 16 goals.
Arianne Yokoyama-RIT
Freshman, Defender, Van Nuys, Calif./LA Selects
Yokoyama dished out four assists in a 3-0 week for the Tigers. On
Tuesday, she assisted on Kelley Prom's game-winning goal in a 1-0
win over Hamilton. Yokoyama dished out a career-best three assists
in Saturday's 10-2 win over Oswego. Yokoyama has a goal and nine
assists for 10 points in 15 games.
Sarah Sitcov-Cortland State
Freshman, Goalie, Arlington, Va./Wyoming Seminary
Sitcov recorded her second shutout of the season in a 4-0 win at
Potsdam on Saturday. Sitcov stopped 32 shots as the Red Dragons
rebounded from a 4-1 loss on Friday and moved into a tie for sixth
place in the league with the victory. For the season, Sitcov has
posted a 3-4 record with a 1.92 GAA and a .932 save percentage.
Jill Doherty-Utica College
Senior, Goalie, Wellesley, Mass./Kents Hill
Doherty stopped all 26 shots she faced in the Pioneers 1-0 win
over visiting Williams College on Wednesday. Doherty now has
ten career shut outs and she needs just one more to tie the
College's career mark set by ECAC Women's West All-Conference
goalie Sarah Detwiler in the 2004-05 season.
