Utica's Roy Picks up Player of the Week Award
Player of the Week
MacKenzie Roy-Utica College
Sophomore, Defender, Cushing Academy/Concord, NH
Roy netted both of the Utica College goals on Saturday afternoon as
the Pioneers extended their winning streak to four with a 2-1 win
over host Williams. Her first goal tied the game up at 1-1
with one second remaining in the first period of play. Roy
currently ranks sixth on the team with seven points on three goals
and four assists this season.
Goalie of the Week
Shannon Donnelly-Neumann
Freshman, Goalie, Orleans, Ontario/Nepean Jr.
Wildcats
Donnelly went 1-1 in two games between the pipes this weekend. In a
3-2 loss against Trinity, Donnelly made 49 saves in net. The
winning goal was scored with just three second left in regulation.
On Saturday, she made 11 saves and picked up the win against
Wesleyan.
Rookie of the Week
Kailyn Murray-Buffalo State
Freshman, Forward, Medicine Hat, Alberta/Warner Hockey
School
Murray had three goals and an assist on the weekend. She
scored her first collegiate goals on Friday in a 3-2 overtime loss
to Potsdam, accounting for both Bengal tallies. She followed that
performance with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over
the Bears.
Honor Roll
Lindsay Mitchell-Elmira
Sophomore, Forward, Arnold, Md./NAHA
Lindsay scored the game winning goal in a crucial game against
Manhattanville College on Saturday. She picked up her fourth
goal of the season on the game winner in the second period with the
score tied at one a piece. She is second on the team in
points with 10.
AnnMarie Lewis-Potsdam State
Sophomore, Forward, Newmarket Ontario/Aurora Panthers
Lewis scored two goals including the game winner on Friday as the
Bears defeated Buffalo State 3-2 in OT. She also had an assist
in
Saturday's 4-2 loss. She leads the team with five goals and
in points with 10.
Jill Doherty-Utica College
Senior, Wellesley, Mass./Kents Hill
Doherty stopped 33 shots and allowed just one goal in the Pioneers
2-1 win over Williams on Saturday. She has allowed two goals
over the course of the last three games and she has helped the
Pioneers to a four game winning streak headed into semester
break. She currently ranks 16th in the nation with a .933
save percentage.
Lauren Sullivan-Elmira
Freshman, Goalie, Toronto, Ontario/Markham-Stouffville Stars,
PWHL
Lauren posted a 3-1 win over Manhattanville College. In 60 minutes
of action she made 18 saves allowing the Valiants first and only
goal in the first period. In six games this season she owns a .944
winning percentage to go along with a 1.00 GAA.
