ECAC Women's West All-Conference Teams Announced


Cape Cod, Mass. - Commissioner of the ECAC Rudy Keeling announced today the ECAC Women's West All-Conference teams for the 2008-09 season. The team is voted on by the coaches of the league each year.

Senior forward Kayla Coady (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island/Berkshire School ) of Elmira College earned Player of the Year in the Women's West.  Coady scored 10 goals and added 25 assists to lead all Women's West scorers with 35 points. Allison Cubberley (Bracebridge, Ontario/Clearview Stars Mid AA) of Elmira College was voted Goalie of the Year for the third year.  She compiled an impressive .954 save percentage, 0.93 goals against average and 14-1-1 record in Women's West play. Forward Jasper Thomson (Wasaga Beach, Ontario/Toronto Jr. Aeros) of Neumann College earned Rookie of the Year honors. Thomson led the Women's West in freshman scoring with 19, tallying seven goals and 12 assists.

Greg Fargo of Elmira College and Scott McDonald of Rochester Institute of Technology have been named Co-Coach of the Year in the ECAC Women's West.  Fargo led the Soaring Eagles to an impressive 16-1-1 conference record and the ECAC Women's West League Title.  McDonald led the Tigers to a 15-2-1 conference record and second in the Women's West.  Both coaches will compete this weekend in the Semifinal games as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds respectively.

Joining Coady and Cubberley on the All-ECAC Women's West First Team are forwards Stephanie Moberg (Saratoga Springs, New York/Northwood School) from Plattsburgh State, and Danielle Blanchard (Newmarket, Ontario/Aurora Panthers) of Plattsburgh State. The All-ECAC Women's West First Team defensemen are Elmira's Jamie Kivi (Green Bay, Wisconsin/Wisconsin Wild U-19) and Tiffany Hart (Perth, Ontario/Perth Jr. Wings).
