Lindsay Brown of Plattsburgh State Named ECAC Women's West Player of the Week Presented By Turfer Athletic

Player of the Week

Lindsay Brown, Plattsburgh State
Junior, Forward - Scarborough, Ontario/Markham Stars

Brown led the Cardinals with five points on one goal and four assists in a two-game conference sweep at Chatham. The junior tied a season-high with three points in an 8-0 win to open the series, assisting on what proved to be the game-winning goal. On Saturday Brown assisted on two power play goals.

Goalie of the Week

Melissa Stern, Cortland State
Junior -Shoreham, N.Y./Long Island Waves

Stern continued her stellar play this season over the weekend in a pair of games vs. Buffalo St. In a 2-2 tie on Saturday, Stern stopped 37 shots, including six in overtime. She recorded a .949 save percentage in the game. On Sunday, she turned aside 26 shots in a 2-1 win, registering a .963 save percentage. For the two games, she went 1-0-1 with a 1.44 GAA and a .955 save percentage. For the season, she is 2-2-2 with a 2.46 GAA and a .922 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week

Amanda Klassen, Rochester Institute of Technology
Forward - Winnipeg, Manitoba/Warner Warriors


Klassen had three points this past weekend as #5 RIT went 1-1-0 versus #4 Elmira. The freshman winger scored the Tiger's lone goal in a 4-1 loss on Friday night and tallied two goals in a 4-1 win on Saturday.

Honor Roll

Robyn Armstrong, Neumann College
Junior, Defense - Sudbury, Ontario./Sudbury Wolves

Armstrong scored the game winning goal in a 4-3 win over Oswego State on Saturday and contributed two assists is a 5-1 win over Oswego Sunday afternoon.

Allison Cubberley, Elmira College
Junior, Goalie - Bracebridge, Ontario/Clearview Stars Mid AA

Cubberley went 1-0 on the weekend earning her third win of the year, allowing one goal in a 4-1 win. In the second game she would enter in the second period and hold the RIT attack to only one goal, allowing Elmira a chance to get back in the game. For the week the junior boasted a 1.21 goals against average and a .948 save percentage. 

Jessica Schroeder, Neumann College
Forward, Freshman - Sudbury, Ontario/Sudbury Wolves

Schroeder scored two goals and added an assist for three points in a 5-1 win over Oswego State on Sunday.
