Melanie Henshaw of Elmira College Named ECAC Women's West Player of the Week Presented By Turfer Athletic

Player of the Week

Melanie Henshaw, Elmira College
Sophomore, Forward - Margate, Fla./North American Hockey Academy

Henshaw led Elmira's offensive surge in game two against Buffalo State. In the game the junior tallied two goals and two assists. Henshaw's first goal of the day would prove to be the game winner; she added another tally to go along with two helpers.

Goalie of the Week

Danielle Beattie, Plattsburgh State
Junior - Brooklin, Ontario/Aurora Panthers

Beattie stopped 36 of 37 shots she faced to help Plattsburgh State to a 2-0 week against non-conference opponents. Beattie made 21 saves in a 4-1 victory against nationally-ranked Amherst and then posted her third-career shutout, 9-0, versus Connecticut College the following day. The junior currently, owns an 8-1 record with a 1.22 goals-against average and .925 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week

Jessica Schroeder, Neumann College
Forward - Sudbury, Ontario/Sudbury Wolves

Schroeder had two goals and an assist in a 4-4 tie with Cortland State, including the game tying goal with three seconds left in regulation. The rookie also added a goal in a 3-1 loss to Hamilton, totaling three goals and one assist in two games on the weekend.

Honor Roll

Kayla McDougall, Plattsburgh State
Sophomore, Forward - Nanton, Alberta/Southern Alberta Selects

McDougall scored half of her team's goals in a 4-1 triumph against Top 5 Amherst and assisted on the final tally in a 9-0 blanking of Connecticut College. The sophomore also totaled three shots and a plus 4 rating over the weekend.

Allison Cubberley, Elmira College
Junior, Goalie - Bracebridge, Ontario/Clearview Stars

Cubberley tallied her fourth victory of the year and her second shut out as she stopped all of Buffalo State's 26 shots in Elmira's victory on Saturday the 9th, a 2-0 win.

Mallorie Maguire, Cortland State
Freshman, Forward - Potsdam, N.Y./North Country Ice Storm

Maguire, in Cortland's only game of the week, collected a pair of assists in a 4-4 tie versus Neumann. Maguire assisted on Cortland's first two goals of the game. The points for Maguire were the first of her career.
